Ok Yahoo.....he's on the plane. Any time now would be fantastic.
Does anyone know if their added players only show up after their daily turnover? So like 3am or whatever it is.
Pengwin Prediction:
Radulov: 9GP-2G-3A-5pts
IMO... people are always way too excited about "elite" KHL/Euro-League players jumping over the the NHL.
The game is a different pace in different/better leagues.
You don't jump flip a switch and say "OK, I'm just going to make all my decisions a bit faster to adjust". It doesn't work like that.
Earlier in the year everybody was absolutely GaGa over David Rundblad and his SEL scoring.
Yadda-yadda this... yadda-yadda that... and everybody wants to ignore it when I mention that it doesn't necessarily translate (especially immediately).
I know a couple people who are very happy, this year, with what they raked from trading Rundblad away.
Anyways, back to Radulov. Let's look at the KHL numbers.
Scoring:
1st. Alex Radulov. 50GP/ 25G/ 38A/ 63pts
...
...
4th. Brandon Bochenski. 49GP/ 27G/ 31A/ 58pts
Now... if you don't know who Brandon Bochenski is... maybe you should go find out.
The KHL is probably equivalent to the AHL... or less.
When you think Alex Radulov for remainder of THIS year... I think the comparable is somebody like Kyle Palmieri (42G/ 32G/ 23A/ 55pts).
I love this website too... but I think "we" (collectively) have a tendency to over-pump some of these guys coming in from different leagues.
Summary:
The KHL is a MUCH slower league. Whether Radulov is in shape or not matters not.
Radulov's decision-making will not be at NHL speed.
The only way he gets 9pts in 9G is if he is placed on PP1 and gets 5pts there.
I don't think he can get 5 even strength points the rest of the way.

I'm 90% certain that they don't add players during the day. (Maybe the 3am-4:30am tonight)
I know they never add/remove IR during the day.

I'm not arguing anything here because I mostly agree with your prediction for what he'll do with Nashville this season. But I did want to point out 2010-11.
Led the KHL in scoring, and set a record for most points with 20 goals, 60 assists, and 80 points. He won the MVP that year and he's the all-time leading scorer for the league....the league's not very old but still.
20 Team Dynasty (points per) - G (25, 50 for defense) A (25) PIM (3) PPP (15) SHP (25) OTG (15) GWG (25) HTr (50) SOW (75) HIT (1) BLK (2) W (50) SHO (100) OTL (10) GA (-15) SV (2) Use actual NHL salary
Start 12 F, 6 D, 1G weekly

And he still had 58 points in his last season with Nashville which wasn't too bad for however many games.
I understand your comparison for Rundblad but using him isn't a good example because Radulov played junior hockey in NA and has NHL experience already

Is tonight the night where Yahoo adds him?
Is it a done deal that he will play in the khl next year
Yes, drop him.
He signed a new 4 year contract over there, he's nothing more than a memory now.
