Interesting, thanks for sharing P7. I wasn’t familiar with this kid but that all sounds very encouraging. Looks like a good signing for my Bruins
Not a huge signing... but he was an NCAA player who waited out his 4 years to choose his location.
Decided not to do Arizona.
As of 5pm Eastern, August 15th - his Arizona rights expired and he became Free Agent.
[He's been owned by a few teams in all-Dobber WHL fantasy league - I owned him for a while too.]
New Jersey kid.
Plays college hockey with Harvard.
Signs with Boston.
Smart move by him, IMO - especially given Boston's thinned forward system.
Notably... "Harvard kids" waiting out their 4 years is seeming to become a trend.
Jimmy Vesey (2012-16) was the original - big story - didn't want to play for Nashville - waited out his 4 years and signed East Coast: NYR.
Adam Fox (2016-19) is the most popular one people will remember. Calgary draftee was traded to Carolina - who couldn't sign him - then East Coast: NYR.
Henry Thrun (2019-23) recently declined to sign with his drafted Anaheim team (4th in D-prospect pool) and forced a trade to the starved D San Jose Sharks.
John Farinacci (2019-23) becomes the latest... doesn't want to sign with Arizona... waits out his 4 years... and signed East Coast: BOS.

Without me, it's only "aweso".

Wouldn't Beecher and Merkulov be ahead of him? I guess it depends on any handshake deals given to him to make him sign with them.

^I think Beecher is going to be a career AHL-er in the same vein as Studnicka.
Bs have whiffed on some of their drafting from 4-6 drafts ago.
Merkulov is a maybe... but yeah, Boston is thin... good spot for Farinacci.
He should, at least, get top6 AHL time this season.
