Wow
"These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG"

I'm not a huge football fan by any stretch, but this is the least surprising thing I've heard all day. Coming "out of retirement" is like a played out WWE storyline at this point. The fact that it's only been a couple months makes it even more silly.
It's like the mandatory "encore" you see at concerts these days. The band goes off stage and does an immediate u-turn to come back on stage for one more pre-planned song. WHY?!
I don't even understand why. It made so much sense to keep playing. This is just unnecessary at this point. Now I'm annoyed.

While I’m not a huge fan of players “unretiring” in such a short time span, I’m happy Tommy is back for another year.
And really, it’s a major life decision for him. So if he wants to change his mind, he has every right to do so.
Also, did anyone see Boston Rob’s Instagram post yesterday announcing his “unretirement”? Hilarious
Captain Obvious was right on this one. Thanks Captain Obvious.

Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Michael Jordan, a few who retired an unretired. Pro sports is a tough gig to walk away from.
I had the opportunity to meet and chat with a recently retired Calgary Flame in 2011. He told me the most difficult thing to learn post retirement was how to multi task and time management in every day family life.
While a pro player he was used to being told where to be, what to eat, workout schedules, games schedules, transportation etc during the season and off season. Basically just about every moment was planned and scheduled.
Once retired he found he couldn’t get anything accomplished at home with his family. Planning and multi tasking home life were foreign. Retirement was a steep learning curve.
I just found this information very interesting.

Exactly.
I'll never fault a player for playing too long. In Brady's care he has been doing it for 30+ years and he'll never find something he succeeds in as well as he does being a quarterback. And that harming your legacy talk is nonsense. No one expects him to play like he did as a 30-year old. Once it's over, it's over so play as long as you can. Father time comes for all of us. If Brady wants to keep playing and Tampa wants him, good for him and the Bucs.

The more I think about this today, the less issue I have with it. Didn't Schefter report his retirement early and Tom's reps denied it? Seems like maybe he felt rushed into the decision in the first place since the media was reporting it to be a final decision. Just speculation on my part, but maybe he didn't want the "Is Brady retiring?" story to hang over the Superbowl or the Bucs for too long.
If he had really wanted attention, I have to think he would have made a little more of an event out of it rather than an instagram post.
Without me, it's only "aweso".
