Well if what we’re hearing from Friedman and other sources are correct, the canes wanted KK for a reason. As such, I think he’ll have all the ice time and opportunity needed to have an honest shot. Not something he had in Montreal.

Maybe KK just doesn’t want to be a part of a team that would draft the way they do. Taking a kid guilty of sexual misconduct this year… and taking He himself over Tkachuk and Q.Hughes.

If they passed on JK, it probably would have been for Zadina. Hell, most Ottawa fans at the time wanted Zadina. Tkachuk is the one thing that the Senators absolutely nailed...

Anyway, It's been a tough summer for KK. I'm happy to see KK get paid. The players of Montreal are happy to see him get paid. The players hope to see him back and I hope he is too, but if he's not he will still be going to a place that wants him.
I will just have to wish him all the best.

I don't know if that's true. Could be, but most fans aren't mad at KK for this from what I've read. Most fans want Bergevin to take the picks (I personally disagree) but not because they hate KK but because they hate the contract, which is fair.

I'm sure some fans will boo him, especially if he leaves. If he stays, I don't think it'll happen.

If they boo him, they are uneducated on how the offer sheet system works. It's not like his agent worked out this deal. This was presented to him and he accepted it. Why wouldn't he. If the everyday "knowledgable" hockey fan in Montreal can't understand that, then maybe they shouldnt be going to hockey games in the first place.

i sincerely hope bergevin lets KK go. I see KK as galchenyuk 2.0 in the way hes treated and utilized, arguably worse really. At least with Carolina they have a chance to bring out his full potential. the 6.1m and subsequent extension (probs a lowerw aav) is np since nino is a ufa and i doubt they end up keeping trocheck if KK shows promise

Gems are usually developed. They couldnt develop a 3rd overall properly. Thats why so many are questioning taking the picks. Now if they can take those pics and flip them for a viable center asset then that would make sense.
