A bargain for Buffalo is you compare it to the Muzzin deal. Dammit.
Maybe there is something to all the Risto to Bolts chatter.
Anyway Montour to Buffalo for Guhle and a conditional 1st. Not sure what the conditions are.
Montour is also from the Six Nations Reserve not far from Buffalo so he's either glad to be back near family, disappointed because he liked the coast, or somewhere in between.
A bargain for Buffalo is you compare it to the Muzzin deal. Dammit.
He has some name value and some offensive talent, and maybe some of those numbers are so negative in coming from Anaheim, but in my opinion he really is a tier (or 2-3) below Muzzin.

dang thought he would've got a better return than that.

Is's SJ's 1st pick. Anaheim can switch to StL 1st if StL pick is between 21-30. That's the conditional aspect.

Having watched a modicum of Ducks and Sabres games the optics don't seem to add up. I suppose the pick could turn into anything from an all star to a bust so we'll have to see and let history judge but I think Buffalo is better after the deal and that Anaheim is not. So perhaps they have something else cooking ? That would explain things as of right now.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
Montour = RHD Gardiner.
