I dont hate this trade for Edmonton but irs nothing great either. At least Chiarelli got a player in return who can actually play for them right away on the wing.

Letestu doesn't have a lot of value so getting Aberg is a pretty good deal.

Opens up spot for Fisher on Nash and they get a pick, gets Edm a usable asset. Columbus gets depth with playoff experience for a 4th. Say benefits all teams.

Can't say I'm a big fan here of losing Aberg for a 4th, but he wasn't really getting minutes anyways (even before Fisher is in the picture).

I feel like Chiarelli has always been better at making smaller deals. I'm not positive I like the deal for Nashville, but Edmonton and Columbus both did well for sure. Magicstew's point about making space for Fisher without completely losing an asset makes sense though.

Works out for the Oilers in my mind. Might as well use the last quarter of a write off season to audition some guys who can help out next season. Easier than trying to evaluate a rookie in under 9 games in an attempt to not burn a year of a contract.
