    Default 2016 'clutch' playoff pool

    Hello Everyone,

I made a "Martix" playoff pool this year. Here is it in PDF form. Feel free to use this for you own pool if you would like. I hope that anyone that finds this pool and decides to use this has fun.

    Cheers,

If nothing else... try to wrap your noodle around who you would pick. It is not nearly as easy as you might expect....

You only get to pick one player and from each column and each row. It is not supposed to be easy.

    (for example)

If you pick Justin Williams you are not allowed to pick any Capitals (that column). You are also not allowed to pick anyone else from row 1 (Bonino, Moore, Giroux, Huberdeau, Stamkos, Tatar, Zidlicky).

The idea is that any game you are watching you will have 2 players from each team to be rooting for and that each entrant should have the same number of players left at any given time. With bonus points for clutch goals there is always a chance to have a 'big night'. Each goal is important to somebody as many of th goals that are scored through the game change who is inline for the game winning goal.

@Blackaces - I'd love some feed back about how different each entry is. I 'think' that the way this is set up should make for teams to be wildly different.

Love your setup. Definitely well thought out. Since my team (Leafs) obviously aren't in the playoffs but I always watch them anyway and am not in any other playoff pools this will keep the games interesting.

I've just sent it out to my family. I'll let you know how it goes once they pick their teams.

Since I rock the double screen... I've got the PDF open to make picks and can use the highlighter on my picks.
If you want a bigger group of entrants - you have to run a contest that works for the "single screen" (/mobile) crowd.
If you had those written out as line items, it might work:
    A1: WAS-Williams, PIT-Bonino, etc.
    A2: WAS-Burakovsky, PIT-Kunitz, etc.

[Another possible way is to put this spreadsheet in a shared mult-page google doc, if possible, and each user can BOLD or color their pick per cell]

My picks (I picked them by team, then if value along row):

    A8: Kucherov (TB)
    D1: T.Johnson (TB)
    A4: Brassard (NYR)
    D6: D.Boyle (NYR)
    B4: Pavelski (SJ)
    D4: Hertl (SJ)
    C8: Backstrom (WAS)
    A7: Niskanen (WAS)
    C7: Crosby (PIT)
    A1: Bonino (PIT)
    C2: Pat Kane (CHI)
    B1: Hossa (CHI)
    A2: Jagr (FLA)
    C3: Barkov (FLA)
    A6: Datsyuk (DET)
    D2: Nyquist (DET)
    D3: Weber (NAS)
    B3: Josi (NAS)
    C4: Perry (ANA)
    B5: Fowler (ANA)
    B2: Doughty (LA)
    C7: Toffoli (LA)
    A5: Tavares (NYI)
D8: Clutterbuck (NYI - just burning a row)
    B7: Schwartz (STL)
    C5: Brouwer (STL)
    B6: Parise (MIN)
    D5: Vanek (MIN)

    Left with:
    B8: Hemsky (DAL)
    C1: Ritchie (DAL)
    A3: Gagner (PHI)
    D7: Gudas (PHI)

Awesome set up! But it should be used as a 'just for fun' type of league. I hate GWG stats when it's fantasy related

Also, this. This in an excel (or gsheets) would have been awesome. I just clicked this thread now so I'm obviously too late but I would have printed some off earlier for sure.
