Re: Bobrovsky vs Markstrom + Okposo
I think I would stand pat honestly. I'm not really a huge fan of Okposo, but I think it's fair to say he's (at worst) a 60-point player going forward with upside for considerably more, conditioned upon him riding shotgun with John Tavares. Markstrom, on the other hand, is what puts this deal in the "loss" category for me. You're not only dealing a young forward in a breakout season, but adding an elite goaltending prospect to the mix is just too much for me. I'm inclined to believe that Bobrovsky is definitely legit as a #1, but I feel like Markstrom could be just as valuable in 2-3 seasons.
If you're competing right now, it's a much different story, and in that case Markstrom/Okposo is an acceptable loss in return for shoring up your goaltending to compete for a title. But since you're a middle of the pack team with "no real chance to win," I would be looking toward next season and beyond. I think in that universe, Okposo/Markstrom represents more value to your club's title aspirations than Bobrovsky on his own. Also depends on the FA quality of forwards who are available; if you can add somebody legit, it makes this whole situation a bit different. But assuming the size of your league, and the dynasty format in general, I wouldn't imagine many quality players are left on your waiver wire.
As such, I would be against making this trade in your current situation.
