I also share your hitters above pitchers attitude for the most part, but I'd actually go with Cole out of these options. Pitching prospects are always a bit of a gamble, but Cole's upside is high enough that I'd go with him.
i have the #1 choice. rookie salaries are $4, and we may keep them in our farm systems until they lose rookie status. team in sig.
best available, brown, bauer, cole. i'm leaning brown.
i generally take hitters over pitchers, and that kind of speed potential in roto is often hugely valuable.
thoughts?

I've never been the biggest Domonic Brown fan, but I understand your thought process here. It appears Philadelphia wants to give Brown a full season at Triple-A in 2012, so don't expect much, if any, production from him prior to September. I recently read an article comparing the development of Brown to that of Baltimore's Adam Jones. It is an interesting comparison. Brown seems like the safe pick here. However, if you want to "swing for the fences," opt for Gerrit Cole. His ceiling is that of a No. 1 starter in the big leagues and he looked excellent in the Arizona Fall League.
I assumed he was talking about Gary Brown? I'd take Cole over either of the Browns though.
yes, gary. dom is no longer a rookie.
very tough call, and why i put it to the forum.
i agree that cole's upside is huge and he is ranked in the top fifteen on most prospect boards, while brown is always lower on the lists.
i see brown's profit-potential ( 5 cats, three of them elite = $25-30 at peak ) in roto 5x5 as safer, sooner, and ...he isn't a pirate
thanks for the replies.
