What can I say about the Ducks. Their resurgence is quite remarkable.
They look so scary moving the puck.
Perry and Beauchemin are total work horses blocking pucks and crashing the net. Selanne looks to be the most consistent as he always does. Getzlav still chips in with some nice strength and face offs.
If you would have told me this was the same team as the first of the year I'd say you were crazy.
They look unbeatable right now with Hiller.
What the hell got in to him.
If you read my early posts this year I would have said trade them all except Selanne.
If I were you I'd would go out of my way to pick up Koivu, Beauchemin ,
or any Duck before it's to late.
The bus has already left on the top line.
Hi Jeff and Ducks fans!
I just picked up Emerson Etem in my keeper league and stashed him on my bench. Just a hunch really after reading that Etem could fit right into the top-6 next year (replacing Selanne) - at least that's what Dobber's Mid-Season Guide said
I don't know much about the guy except for the obvious stats in the WHL, etc.
Couple questions:
1) what are the odds of Etem making the Ducks next season, and perhaps even sliding right into a top-6 role?
2) How does he compare with Palmieri?
3) what are the odds of Etem becoming a big part of the franchise - the guy is from Long Beach, CA afterall right? I'm thinking there should be lots of "home grown talent" stories as soon as this guy makes the team, no? (maybe there are already)
Bottom line of my thinking is: to succeed in the NHL as a young prospect, you need talent and opportunity to produce (and stay healthy!). Emerson has talent, no doubt. Will he have an opportunity to suceed? Given Selanne's upcoming retirement and the "home-grown" talent, I'm thinking the Ducks will likely want to highlight him more than most.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on him. Fingers crossed I made a good pick.
Cheers. - C

IR: Duchene
Etem's game is all about speed and accuracy. It's all up in the air with the Ducks second line as all of them are UFA's and that's on Murray whether or not he wants to sign them, trade for better players, sign other UFA's or just let the rookies play. I don't know if Etem will exactly step straight into a top 6 role, but a big part of it will depend how he does in training camp next year. I think he will be a great player, and hopefully part of the core for a long time to come.
1) 60% of making the team right away Depending on signings/etc. If Ducks don't make moves I see Etem jumping in right away, if they make some moves he might slide out into the top 9 (but depending on how Boudreau uses him, might not be that bad) And then there's always the option of sending him to the A.
2) Etem is better than Palmieri IMO, but that remains to be seen.

Ducks look like sitting ducks again.
Fowler looks like half the player he was last year.
He is off the PP replaced by Getzlav at the point with blake thrown in.
Only Selanne looks like himself.
Too bad he has to be a duck.
Is Fowler even worth keeping anymore? Seems like every D on Anaheim is scoring but him...
Another win! I'm starting to believe.

What can I expect from this kid?

Palmieri will get good minutes next year, probably switching around on different lines, but in the small sample of games from this year, he should be up full time next season.
Great atmosphere last night for the last home game. I got goosebumps when we started this chant

lasted a good minute and then he taps the linesman on the back of the leg and tells him to drop the puck. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed
