I would stick with Kessel. In his prime, 8th in scoring last year, 6th the year before, never injured. In fantasy he's the most underrated underappreciated player because the reality is that he's a Top 10 own.
Who would you rather own in a points only league (G=1, A=1) with no positional requirements. I currently own Kessel, but Duchene's got me intrigued.

Kessel is stepping into his "greatness", making him the safer option. Duchene will likely get there, but he's not there yet.

I'm a huge Avalanche Fan, and although I think Duchene will put up big numbers, my fear is that with Duchene, Stastny, O'Reilly, Landeskog, MacKinnon, and Parenteau all in Denver, that the points will be spread out, much like they were in Philly when Richards, Carter, Giroux, Briere etc were all playing on the team. Collectively they all score over 55 points, but nobody scores more than 70.
In Toronto Kessel can score 85+ for a few years yet.
I own Duchene in my pts only keeper and if someone offered me Kessel straight up I would accept without thinking twice about it.
IMO this isn't close at all. I'd way way rather have Kessel
Kessel as of this moment, with the gap progressively closing over the next three years, and these two are about even in four or five years.

Kessel for sure. Duchene is in the rise but it'll be a few years before this decision has any merit in his direction.

I just came in here to say that I'm shocked Kessel is only 25 (soon to be 26) years old. For some reason, I thought he was in his late 20s. Good to know, especially since I own him.
