So, this summer i inherited a team in a dynasty league that was in dire need of a rebuild. To many vets without the power to win.
So i gutted the majority of the team brought in a ton of young studs and a couple 1st overall draft picks. Basically my summer trading is done(give or take 1 or 2 small deals)
My question is I have a goalie tandem of Rinne and Elliot. I dont expect to be competitive for at least 2 seasons, and I've been getting some questions about Rinne.
Another GM wants to make a deal sending me Steve Mason and the 9th overall pick in the draft.
Do you guys think i should take a deal like this for Rinne or ask more? i would personally want more but his prospect pool is depleted. should i even try and work with this or move on and trade him at the deadline or to another team?
Goalie cats are: W, GAA, SV, SV% only 2 starts a week and only dress 1 goalie a night.
if any more info is need for some advice let me know
cheers

thats just not even close enough to good value for you
it is very unlikely you will get proper value for rinne in terms of getting a goalie in the deal
you are much better off targeting a forward
a tavares or giroux or pat kane something along those lines
I didn't even read your post, the answer is NO (well unless he's sending you Lundqvist in return or something)
Don't ever trade a top 5 asset when they are coming off a season where their perceived value is (at best) middle of the pack, it's just a terrible position to be negotiating from. He had a down year, so did the whole team, they had trouble adjusting to the short season and loss of Suter, they'll work thru the growing pains and Rinner will be back to dominating the league. His value will only increase
That is not a good package for Rinne. He was injured most of the season and had surgery to repair whatever the damage was as soon as the season ended. Mason is a HUGE gamble and the 9th will be a good player... in 4-5 years. Even an impact rookie only scores 50 points. Rinne is still a top-5 (and I could easily argue top-3) in the NHL.
If you are in a big rebuild Rinne is the guy I would be building around. Elliott is the guy I'd want to move, if you want to move a goalie. Packaging him up with another solid player for a guy like Lehner is what I'd try to do. I certainly wouldn't entertain the offer on the table.

If i were rebuilding, i would like to get my hands on a goalie like Rinne.
Donīt even think about trading him, he has a lot of years left and he will be elite for the majority of it.
Do NOT sell Rinne for mason and a 9th pick, he is valuable as a top forward with 90 pts potential. Think Getzlaf, Kane, Giroux ...

Looks like you traded many players. Carle, Datsyuk, Cullen, Heatley, Koivu, Kronwall, Marleau, Kunitz, Richards, Vrbata are gone. Holy crap you really gutted this team. What did the trades look like?
have to agree with everyone else here. you shouldn't move him for that. in my experience goalies are very hard to trade for in larger leagues so you should never move one unless you're getting a sure thing coming back.

If I were you, I would DEMAND to the grand poobah of your league to have this GM banned for life for making such a horrible trade offer.
