hahaha, ya...thats what i thought, nobody has any idea what to do with EJ.
i have EJ on my squad but i am really getting tired of carrying him around.
is he ever going to fit in COL?
Kulikov and Leddy are hanging out there (intrested in Leddy) but is it worth the swap?
my other D are
Karlsson
Carlson
Wideman
Enstrom
OEL

Yeah I have him also and keep waitin for signs of life but then again Colorado has very little. Guess we can only hope for a trade. Still hoping for that 50 point guy

Almost every fantasy hockey GM has taken a ride on the EJ-train at some point.
I got off after half-a-season and haven't gotten back on.
I think the upside is illusion.
The last two seasons are what you'll see every year.
I would snag Leddy for EJ right now. My patience is running ultra-thin with EJ.

He's being used more as a defensive defenseman right now, and for whatever reason refuses to shoot the damn puck. He was recently put back on the number one PP unit, and whenever he does shoot it always hits someone. As an avalanche fan its hard to watch, but I still hold out hope he'll be our go to guy in the future.
Fantasy wise, he won't produce until he gets a solid defender beside him. Avs are constantly changing their D units and he hasn't had a steady partner since he got to Colorado.
Was looking to trade for him while his value is low. Only as a throw in since I'd be giving up a couple solid D-men in a deal for Crosby, but still, he'd be in my lineup so I'd like to know what people think. I realize the offense is lacking, but he plays huge PP minutes which is encouraging on that front. He's also getting a ton of blocks this year which is nice. Any chance he approaches a point every other game from here on out?

I take Leddy over Johnson, but that's not to say I think Johnson is a bust.
I just traded him + a forward prospects for 3 d prospects: Desperes. Broadie, P Larsen.
I am tired of watching him do nothing

Just traded him for Voracek and a pick upgrade, but right now it's looking like a lose-lose deal, as both players have been brutal. I was hoping that he could be a 2nd tier defenseman for my fantasy team, behind Letang, Karlsson and Boyle, but he doesn't seem to be able to. I think he would fill that role well on a real roster, if Colorado were to acquire a true #1 defenseman, but as long as he's being relied on to be the top dog I don't think he will be very fantasy relevant.

This is exactly what's happening with EJ and fantasy GMs. I had a 2-year whirl with him - keeping him while dropping other solid young blueliners, and finally washed my hands of him.
Another fella used the "bust" line about EJ. Not sure he's that far gone as he's still munching a decent amount of time for the Avs. But its fairly clear that he won't be the huge point producer that many of us thought he would be.
At times like this, I wonder how much the lost year and return from that knee injury has affected his overall development.
Part of the problem is the Avs overall talent and I'm also questioning how they develop/coach their young defensemen. Outside of Shattenkirk, who was both very hot and ice cold there, they have not been able to develop ANY young defensemen with promise - EJ, Elliott, Barrie, etc. All three of these guys have been inconsistent and Elliott/Barrie have been yo-yoed up and down Lake Erie. Makes you wonder.
