How about Jeremy Welsh?
No one isn't an acceptable answer Someone will put those numbers eventually so looking for THAT guy. Obviously it's a hard to identify those players as guys like Backes and Lucic were late bloomers and surprised us all with their offensive numbers. But since this about prospects, the key word is potential, and I'm sure there's some guys to find with potential to put up those kind of elite power forward numbers.

Well that's quite the long-shot but there's definitely some interesting upside there. Like with all prospects the hitting part is hard to project if you haven't seen the player actually play regularly, so not sure if he's got that part in his game. But as an owner, I definitely welcome this suggestion.

Well it's hard to predict those kind of guys
Like Tom Wilson and Mitch Moroz could technically become that. Or they may never crack the NHL or may be 4th liners. Both their offensive games have a long way to go.
Already mentioned him, but I like Curtis Lazar to be a candidate next year.

also as a rangers fan id like to throw kreider's name in there. i doubt he hits the criteria laid out, but i doubt a lot of guys listed do.

That's the fun part of it These type of guys are really hard to find and I'm just lucky enough to have found David Backes before he broke out big time. I wanna find the next Backes too so that's why I'm asking this question.
Yeah Wilson is a good candidate but like you mentioned, his offensive needs to develop a lot still. Same with Moroz whose even more of a long shot. They haven't quite shown enough offensive potential yet to be labeled as the next big power forward. Actually there's really no one slam dunk prospect in this regard - just further proving the difficulty in finding this type of player. There's lots of solid power forward prospects but all seem to be lacking in some department (either not enough of a goal scorer or PIM potential isn't quite there) But that's also the fun part of this. When you find yourself this guy, you'll be a happy fantasy GM.
Kyle Beach was THAT prospect at some point and still has the potential but looks like he doesn't quite reach it. Still too early to write him off and as last week showed, he has the potential to be the player I'm looking for in here.
I'll have to keep in mind that Lazar guy.

Yeah, that's why I think Coyle is the ideal prospect here. Same goes for Kyle Beach, its easy to forget about him but he still has a lot of talent and power forwards develop slowly.
He doesn't have huge upside, but he will be a great multi-cat fantasy player if he pans out.

Charlie Coyle will not have high PIM, neither will Bjugstad.
Leagues should be getting rid of PIM anyway.
Not sure if anyone mentioned him yet but...
Eric Tangradi.
If he ever starts to hone his offensive skill at the AHL level and ends up on Crosby's wing than he's a shoe in for 60pts.

The names that come to mind immediately have all been mentioned, so I'll throw a couple of longer-shots in the ring, Henrik Samuelsson and Brian Hart.
At this point I can't see them meeting the criteria laid out in this thread, but hey, Lucic went 60th overall so who knows. Players to keep an eye on in PIM/Hit leagues anyway.
