Good for him. Let's him (likely) close out his career playing meaningful hockey.

    TRAAAAAAAAAADE!

    To Kings: Jarome Iginla

To Avalanche: Conditional 4th round pick in 2018
Bummer. I really hoped EDM might have taken a risk on him, especially for that price.

Looking forward to see LA go all-in at the deadline and miss the playoffs lol. Not that they've actually given up much.

Wow, I guess they should go for it, but I don't see them as a heavy contender. At any rate, it's not like they're sacrificing much.

Among my favorite players of all time and would love to see him win a Cup but I am not hopeful this is the way to go about it for him. Seeing Iginla on the Kings steal the Flames playoff spot would be fun, but seeing the Kings miss the playoffs would be just fine with me as well. Poor Iginla, wish he was going somewhere better.

Agree with you Doulos. One of my favs as well. To bad he didn't go to a legit contender although I wouldn't quite sleep on LA. They have two Vezina calibre goalies, one Norris Trophy winning D and a Selke winning first line center. Pair that with past playoff experience they could do some damage if they make it.

I've not watched a lot of Kings games this year, but the little I watched the team doesn't look the same as in the past. They do have that history of sneaking in late and going on a long run though, so anything could happen. It would be kind of yucky to see him win in LA, but if that's what it takes then I'll take it.

Even if they don't get in, at least his playing for something meaningful from here on in. If they do get in, I would def. it count them as faves or close to it, but they'd be bettter then a darkhorse. That core is still in tact.

La is a team you can’t discount, but every yr they make it easier for us to judge them on if they get in.

As a Kings fan I like this. Put Iggy with Kopitar and lets see if he has any rabbits left to pull out of his hat. The team needs scoring wingers, maybe Iggy has a few months of that left in him. At least Deano is being sensible this year, and there arent any asinine trades for rentals like Lucic and Sekera where 1st round picks are being thrown away. I would have liked to see the Kings grab Sharp for cheap too but with the injury thats not looking good.

So if I'm seeing right, they traded Dwight King for Iginla, right? Not sure if it will help them much.
