Hedman vs Shatty

I am having a hard time choosing a player to keep.

Hedman or shattenkirk?

Top 3 team last year and year before .

Or do I drop holtby and keep both D?

It would be easier to sell shattenkirk in my league than it would be hedman.

You know your league better than anyone on here. Do teams normally keep goalies or is there a lot of goalies available in the re-draft?

My personal opinion (as it was last week too) is to keep Holtby and let Shatty go. It's tough but in a limited keeper, you are always going to be forced with these types of tough choices.

Yes, but they will be tier 3 goalies most likely hitting the draft. Holtby will be the best one available and will be taken somewhere on the 2nd to 5th area and my pick is 12th. I possibly could consolidate voracek and tarasenko for ovie or something and then keep both D and holtby.

With this info, Holtby is an easy keep then. If you can do a 2 for 1 to upgrade somewhere, and find a way to keep both Hedman and Shattenkirk, then that would work to your favor as well.

It sucks, but you gotta keep at Holtby at least. 14 teams - 2 starters, that's at least 28 goalies in play. Where would Schneider be drafted if he was let go?

No question you have to keep Holtby.

As for Hedman vs Shattenkirk, I think you have to keep Hedman, especially if you can get more in a trade involving Shattenkirk.

Let's not forget that last year Hedman was arguably a top 5 dman in the NHL. Because of injuries, he is a little underrated right now. Plus, with Hitchcock likely gone, things may change in St. Louis next year. I really like Shattenkirk, but a new coach may change his role a bit or force him to play a slightly different system or something. I just think Hedman is the safer option.

Hedman is an elite d-man and may have the higher upside but Shatty hits on your stats big time.

In that case, I'd also consider keeping 2 goalies so you are not stuck with Holtby and say Scrivens. Personally I'd keep both goalies and drop Voracek.

there's definitely merit in that idea...but I have a feeling Voracek would definitely be grabbed early in the draft, whereas Schneider is more likely to fall to 12th.

If it were me, I'd probably keep Voracek and then try to get a goalie in the draft. If I don't, then I'd try to make a deal (perhaps dangle Voracek) during the draft or just after the draft to get a goalie.

Why not move Shatenkirk for a first? Therefore giving you an extra first to try and replace him?
