This is obviously just a guess, but here goes:

    MacKinnon - 60-65

    Drouin - 45 - 50

    Nyquist - 55-60

    Ekblad - 35 - 40

    Klingberg - 35 - 40

I am probably a tad conservitive on a couple of these kids but I'd rather be conservative than crazy.

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

I agree with all of Axeman's projections. Also agree that its best to stay conservative than to go crazy and project Klingberg to be a 55 point dman next year for example.

No issues with the conservative approach. Most generous point projections end up failing and many projections are made thinking it's still 2006.

I won't argue with this. Looks pretty reasonable and attainable for me. I will find it humorous how many may peg Mack as a bounce back player to 80+ this season. I can't see it. The guy's who hit 80+ this year had to work their tails off... I can't see a player "Bouncing Back" to record top 2% PPGish numbers. But mid 60's I think would be a nice response to his horrible Sophmore year.

Looks good but I am having a hard time with the Klingberg projection. He got 40 points in 65 games in his rookie year. And he looked like an offensive dynamo out there; these were not lucky 40 points. He also did not play on the top PP for all of his 65 games (I think something like half of them). Next year, he will be on the top PP all year, no doubt in my mind. Barring an injury, he is not getting fewer than 45 points and I'm thinking that is conservative. I would bet on 50+ if he plays 80 games.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Recall seeing Bernier let in a floater from mid ice off the stick of Klingberg for one of his 40. So maybe 39 were not lucky? \

    lol

Yes, I remember that one. It was Fasth, though, not Bernier. And it was a perfectly placed knuckle-puck

You don't have to look far to find examples of nonlinear development of dmen.

That's the one. I knew it was against one of my two horrible teams.

There are examples, yes but you can't just place anyone in the bucket of non-linear development. I'm basing my prediction on having seen Klingberg play and am very confident that he will not regress next year.

I agree with VincentVega that Klingberg has a shot at breaking 50 pts and I think he is a safe bet for 40 to 45 pts next year. His hockey sense and mobility with the puck is off the charts IMO.

I say bank on 80 and be happy next year when you did. Get this guy if you don't have him, and if you do, don't move him for anyone but Crosby.
Im better at projecting players than you are.

Last season I won my league. I know what I am doing.

I am not alone in my opinions of MacKinnon.

Ive been offered players like, Hall, Seguin and Kessel straight up for him.

NHL.com's Pete Jensen ranked him 18th overall, ahead of Seguin, Kessel and Hall

Dobber ranked him 13th and he has been climbing steadily.

Last time I checked those guys know a thing or two about fantasy hockey.
Last year when you did this, it turned in to these two responses by you to me. Thank god you're so much better at projecting players than I am. Of course it's Mackinnon! Moving to center doesn't matter! Sophmore slump doesn't matter! Nothing matters he's a star! Well that backfired. Why do you bother asking if you're so much better at projecting players. I don't have anything else to add.

I think Klingburg has a better shot at 55-60 than he does at 35-40 (provided healthy).
