Tonights the night folks...any thoughts or outlandish predictions?

Lottery coverage begins 8pm ET on NBC, CBC and TVA. Pre-lottery coverage at 730 on CBC and 7pm on TSN1050 radio (plus other stations Im sure)

NHL execs currently on lockdown in a private room debating who should win. Bettman wants Arizona to complete his anti-relocation project but Bill Daly thinks Buffalo's proximity to Toronto makes them a better fit. Plus it's an Eastern team.

A live studio would make so much sense, but when was the last time the NHL made sense?

Teams I wouldn't mind winning the lottery: FLA, DAL, SJS, CLB, PHI.

Teams I'd hate to see win it: EDM, TOR, BOS, ARI & BUF (because of their tanking).

In no way did Edmonton tank, they were simply a bad team. I know they've drafted first overall enough for most peoples tastes, but just like when they were winning Stanley Cups (4 in 6 years), they are on track to do the same with the first overall selection. It's literally all or nothing for the Oilers franchise. Giddy up.

Oh, and Boston imploded for lack of a better term (got old, mismanaged the cap, etc), so no tanking for them at any level. Those other three were clearly trading away assets to drop in the standings. I might also include Carolina, but they could have simply had a bad season.

Wildcard team is New Jersey who could also use him.

As a leafs fan I just hope no one behind them wins the lottery so they can draft Strome/Marner.

basically the thought process is:
1. Do I like the team? yes/no
2. If yes: clearly this was a transparent process and the team deserved to win. look, they even released a video as proof.
3. If no: clearly this was all rigged!!!11 the videotaping was faked/planned in advance! damn bettman and his pro-Team X bias!!!

If they wanted to fake it, they could. Even a live televised lottery could be rigged.
