Dubnyk eliminated my team from Fantasy Playoffs...

I, the 1st seed, just got eliminated from our playoffs by the 4th seed team (who also happens to be my rival in the league, and the GM that beat me in the championship last year). Literally, the only reason I lost in my semi-final match up this week for my H2H league (in sig) was Dubnyk (along with some mediocre goaltending from my goalies).

The final score was 5-4, and the final stats for the week were:

It was an odd week because the GM I faced was the leader in G and SOG, whereas I was the leader in +/- and BLK. Prior to this week, I had a +/- of 118 on the season, and this week it just went downhill. My goalie combination was also the top 3 in the league in GAA, SV%, and SHO.

Overall, I can't be disappointed in my moves this week. I picked up: Stafford, Shaw, and Bouma. These guys all contributed well.

Stafford: 1 G, 3 A, 0 +/-, 1 PPP, 10 SOG, 2 BLK
Shaw: 2 G, 0 A, -3, 2 PPP, 5 SOG, 1 BLK
Bouma 2 G, 0 A, +1, 0 PPP, 4 SOG, 2 BLK.

It also didn't help that I had: Cole and Michalek injured at the beginning of the week.

Now, the part where Dubnyk was the sole reason I lost...
This was his stat line:

Dubnyk: 4 W, 1.23 GAA, .962 SV%, 0 SHO.

He was even able to offset Lehtonen's bad stat line:
Lehtonen: 2 W, 3.24 GAA, .889 SV%, 0 SHO

As I've said before...If you had told me at the beginning of the season that Dubnyk and Lehtonen would outplay Rask and Schneider to knock me out of the playoffs, I wouldn't have believed you.

As for the thing that bugs me the most; the other semi final match-up. I really think this week's match up should have been the final, but it's not the way the playoffs ended working out. Just as a reference, this was the stat line from the other semi-final matchup:

yep. that is the life of the h2h playoffs format. good run, better luck next year!

The GAA and SV% are so close that it shows how a little luck or a streak can alter the outcome. That -29 is pretty ugly though

Next year, Dubnyk and Lehtonen will not outplay Rask and Schneider.
