Pominville for Eberle/Chara

With Chara coming off the IR I'm now forced into dropping someone. It's between Eberle and Chara for who I drop. Rather than cut one I've been trying to make a 2-for-1 trade but no takers so for. Another guy in the league would take those two for Pominville, but I'm not sure that's an upgrade on Eberle. Should I make this trade?

I'd look to trade Chara before considering a drop of Eberle. He's 1 trade away from realized potential once again. Or simply and Edmonton turn around.

I agree, but my issue is that I have one too many on my roster. I don't want to drop Chara outright unless I can't make a trade happen. Eberle is my weakest skater so if I'm going to package a 2-for-1 he's the guy. I've sent the same offer but for McKinnon but haven't heard back yet. I know the Pominville deal will hey accepted but I think I'd be overpaying. Even though the deal is essentially Eberle for Pominville as I would be dropping Chara anyway.

I'd consider doing the trade, Pominville will turn it around before Eberle does. And then I might trade one of your C for a possible upgrade at D, since your league only starts 1 C and you have 3.

UPDATE

This potential trade has now changed as the owner wants to do the following:

I give up Hall/Eberle/Chara for Benn/Pominville.

On paper that doesn't look great but since Chara would be getting dropped it's essentially Hall/Eberle for Benn/Pominville.

I think Hall is the best player here but I just have zero faith in the Oilers bouncing back into even a halfway decent team this year. The only way I think I lose this trade is if Eberle gets traded.

Should I consider this trade?

No. Benn is slumping and so is Dallas, both unlikely to turn it around. Maybe target Landeskog, he gets the hits and shotgun to Mack.

Hits aren't a category in my league. I definitely wouldn't include Hall in any trade where Landeskog is the best player I'm getting in return.

Edmonton is a circus. Even if Eberle traded/Edmonton improves, we will just he HOPING that he returns to a 0.8 ppg pace. Which means if he was traded today equates to roughly 35-40ish points for the rest of the season, but there's no guarantee that will even happen. Hall will just keep doing what he's doing.

Compare this to Benn who will contribute at least as much (if not more) compared to Hall for the ROS, with more peripheral contributions. Pominville is as consistent as they come.

I agree with this. I wouldn't say Benn is slumping necessarily as Dallas has somewhat picked up their play as of late. If anyone is slumping it's Hall and the Oilers - I would stay away from owning any of them, even Hall.

I'm actually targeting Hall right now in a buy-low (not happy about his 3 points last night) and hoping to flip him for an upgrade based on name value alone, and don't really intend on owning him past the week or two it hopefully takes me to do that.

As for Pominville, his shooting % is low and should be due for an uptick in scoring for the second half of the season. I'd do the trade.

Thanks for the help guys, reps all around. However, a better offer came through so I put this on hold. If you guys wouldn't mind, check out the new trade offer which includes me getting Ovechkin and not giving up my first round pick (Getz)...
