With only 7 kept fwds I would hold on to backstrom.
Kreider might not be a keeper for you with those settings and the Fwds you already have.

Kreider has very little value in your league, so you'd basically be trading Toews for Backstrom, which you don't want to do. I know Backstrom hasn't done much yet to start the year, but his offensive potential easily eclipses Toews'. On any given year, including this one, Toews might actually outscore Backstrom, but it is a gamble not worth taking imo. More often than not, Backstrom would be the guy to go with.

how does he have very little value? we are 15 teams icing 12 forwards weekly... i know it's pts-only but he's got to be in the top 180 am i going nuts?

I like it. Toews will hold his own vs Backstrom and Kreider can be a nice upgrade on your team this season. Maybe you keep him next year, maybe you don't but he's a decent trade chip if you do not keep him. I like Toews / Kreider side this season more than just Backstrom.

I should have looked more closely at your sig...first, I didn't realize it was 15 teams, and I also didn't know that you start 12 forwards weekly. Obviously it was unfair for me to say that Kreider has little value.

That said, I still don't think he is more than a 45 pt forward, so although he has value in a league as deep as yours, I don't know if 45 pts puts him in the top 180. It will be close, I suppose.
