    Default Karlsson Deal

    16 team head-to-head points league.
    No add/drops, 4 round draft.

I inherited a team and id really like to add a franchise forward.

    Karlson + Landeskog + 4th
    For
    Hall + Markov + 2nd

I'm skeptical about Karlssons production cuz Ott looks pretty bad on paper. Hall is probably the only F available in my league who has 100 pt upside.

Not quite happy with the deal cuz im giving up two young players for one.

I might be able to swap Lando for Pavelski or maybe get more/better picks.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forums.

A few questions first to help everyone providing advice:

    - You say H2H points, which I suspect means you use multiple categories that have weighted values assigned to each? If so, could you list those categories with their weighted values?
    - To get a complete picture, please also list your roster, including starting positions. This helps understand roster needs and league depth.
    - How many do you keep each season?
    - What level of players do those picks give you?

Disclaimer - I don't play in keepers so I might not be the best person to provide advice on the deal itself. However, given that you've just joined it would helpful to give you some suggestions on providing information to ensure you receive the most complete advice.

    Good luck.

I think it’s an overpayment on players, and not much of a return on the draft picks to make up for it. some things that pop in my head tho.

    • No add/drops mean no injury replacements, so youth and durability count for a lot. Markov may not be the best addition
    • Whats the scoring cats? How many keepers?
    • Based straight on there is no weights for defensemen getting points, Hall should land you Karlsson straight up.
    • Lando>Markov, no debate.
    • I wouldn’t even think about swapping out Paves for Lando either. Paves has more of an upside right now, and if this is a yahoo daily start, Paves is C,LW,RW. Makes life so much easier.
    • Add in a signature with your team, and league info (scoring cats, # of teams, # of keepers, positions, things like that), it’ll help us out a lot more.

Keeper wise, Hall and Karlsson are on the same tier, but I like Karlsson more. The points difference from a WW D-man + Hall from a WW forward + Karlsson is heavily in Karlssons favour. Plus if it’s a non-hits/blocks league, Karlsson is like having a Hall in the D-man slot.

Thanks for the advice, updated sig.

Originally for Markov I offered one of Little, Ladd, Silfver

If I include Lando clearly I need to get more.

His other D I would be interested in are Derrik Pouliot and Oliver Ekamn-Larsen. How fair does Hall, OEL or Hall, Markov, Pouliot sound for Karlson + Lando?

I am never a fan of trading the most valuable asset in a deal. Karlsson is a solid bet for 70 pointz every year. The gain of Hall vs him only nets you a small increase in points...but the drop off to the next dman to replace Karlsson is likely 30+ points.

The best dman for fantasy is way more valuable than a 80-90 pt forward.

Pass on the deal but I do like the Lando for Pavelski deal....thats a big win for you.

I would want the Karlsson/Lando side in any of the offers you've put forth to date. In a limited keeper, points only league, Karlsson's value is just so high.

    Karlsson (70) + Landeskog (60) = 130
    vs
    OEL (40) + Hall (80) = 120

It's far easier to upgrade a guy like Landeskog then it is to upgrade a guy like OEL. I just don't think it's worth trading Karlsson at all in this league unless you're getting a top top top forward back, Stamkos/Tavares/Crosby type that has a legitimate and consistent shot at 90-100 points.

I like Taylor Hall, but you might be able to squeeze more out of Karlsson.

Hmmm... I see why people value Karlson so highly. I just don't see him as a lock for 70 pt point seasons, although he keeps proving me wrong, maybe it's time I start believing. When I look at what Ott has for him to work with... it's not a lot.

Of course in this deal I'm banking on the Oil getting it together and Hall becoming as superstar... maybe 70 pt seasons from Karlson is the safer bet, heh.
