Trading Pietrangelo.

A friend in my league really needs D badly and I won't be keeping Pietrangelo, so I would like to trade him. I have Yandle, Carlson, Phaneuf, and Schultz. In my league we start 4, can my D still be solid without Pietro?? I plan to either keep Wheeler or Hornqvist instead of Pietro and roll with 3 forwards 1 D and 1 G as keepers. Some good players on his team are Rick Nash, O'Reilly, Johansen, St Louis, Ryan and his untouchable are Getzlaf and Tavares. I could always add to my side and he'd be willing to do picks I think. Any reasonable offer you guys see that I can construct to improve my team (in sig)?

I should also mention Nash is my top target (do you guys think he will continue to be solid, and good for 60-70 pts?).

It's a tough choice because solid D that will consistently produce are so hard to come by. However, if you feel that you need the upgrade, up font, it's not a terrible trade. Pietrangelo seems to be losing some PP time, so it might be a good time to trade before his value drops.

With that said...

I think I would personally keep Pietrangelo, because from your D, I'm not high on Phaneuf or Gardiner (Can you tell I don't like the leafs?) which leaves you with 2/4 D that I personally would be okay with owning. This might just be my personal bias though.

You're defense is pretty good, but personally out of all of them Pietrangelo is probably the most consistent point producer out of all of them. Though I can see his value is hurt a little bit as he rarely hits compared to someone like Phaenuf.

I think you should keep him as well, but if you are confident in your d-men, this its not a bad trade I think.

With AP dropping off the top PP unit, and not being a hitter....his value takes a big hit in this league. Phaneuf could conceivably be a better player in this setup.

Nash or Johansen....either one I'd be ok moving AP for. Nash doesn't get a lot of PPP in NY, so maybe that drops him behind Johansen.

Going to revive this instead of starting a new one. I got interest from a gm in a deal centred around Pietro for Pacioretty or Couture. With my team in sig. Something like Kuemper and Pietro for one of the two forwards and a pick. Good idea??

As far as this new wrinkle goes, I really like Couture, and would try to land him straight up for Piets, but would be willing to part with Kuemper too if needed to make this happen.

He also just offered PIetrangelo and Kuemper for both Pac and Couture if I throw in a decent pick and Ribiero. Do I do this?

Actual offer on table now. My Pietrangelo, Kuemper, and a 5th for his Couture and a 3rd.

My questions: Will my D survive in a start four and is it worth adding Couture over Ribiero/Kucherov as my final starter? Kuemper is verrry expendable, too many goalies and I got him off waivers.
