Most schools won’t let anyone enter or leave. Pretty much every place downtown is in lockdown. Bridges to Quebec are shut down. There were three different shooters (the Sun is reporting there may be five). One official is saying it is officially a terrorist attack.

My guess is they cancel the game. There’s going to be a lot of logistical problems, just in terms of traffic issues of people scrambling out of the downtown core once they are given the okay.

My guess is that it would be cancelled. Until they can get a handle on the full circumstances around this (motives, identify and depth of any organization/involvement/number of people) you don't want to move forward with large public events. Just my two cents.

NEW YORK/TORONTO -- The game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, scheduled for tonight at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, has been postponed, the National Hockey League announced today.

The date and time of the rescheduled game will be announced at a later date.

The National Hockey League wishes to express its sympathy to all affected by the tragic events that took place this morning in downtown Ottawa.

Wednesday Jan 21st is last day of hockey pre-All Star Weekend.
Both teams meet, in Ottawa, that day.

Perhaps they play again the next day, even 3pm (say), and then send All-Star reps out Columbus that night.

Looks good.
That gives both teams a 4-game week that week (Tu/Th/Sat/Sun).
Ottawa is already at home on Sat night vs. Winnipeg.
Toronto will be coming from TOR Sat night vs. NY Rangers.
Pretty fair/even scheduling for both teams.

Nice time slot for this one too (Sunday = family day).
Remembrance Day being November 11th. (OTT @ VAN that day. TOR no game scheduled until Wed vs. BOS)
