I think this is a pretty good way to refer to Merrill, Gelinas, and Severson. They're all Devils, they all have big time upside but who will be good and who will be bad? Am I right?

I still think Merrill will end up the best. I don't if it'll be determined in 1 year or in 3-4 years though. They're all still pretty young and still developing. Looks line it could go anyway really and I'd expect their value/ production each to fluctuate in the next couple of seasons at least.

I think Merrill we will be the best all around Dman from that group. Maybe not the best fantasy option from the three but the best "real life" defenceman. I expect Severson and Gelinas to be similar moulds, both being offensively minded. They can't start all three on the top PP unit long term and I expect Merrill will be the one losing out.

I personally like Severson the most, but Merrill is close behind him. I think in the end they surpass Gelinas pretty handily, but that doesn't mean I think he'll be a scrub.

Severson has better all-around offensive talent. He's already more sound defensively than the other two as well.
I always liked Merril's upside, but his skating will hold him back untill he finds his groove.
Severson will get better peripherals than the other two. I'm very high on him, and have been for a few years.
