I like Wennberg here, closer to making an impact and upsides are very close.

For me the answer to both of your questions,

    Wennberg.

Wennberg is much closer, but I think Fiala's upside is getting underrated. He's got incredible puck pursuit drive and very good offensive instincts. If he can learn the defensive end of the game (probably the easiest thing to learn) then he could be a real star in the league.

Fiala will play for the Blues next year. He has been amazing in training camp.
These guys are both really good prospects.

It's funny because I find Wennberg is extremely underrated as well.

I feel that both are underrated. Not unusual for Swedish forwards as it's harder to translate their production there to NHL production. I feel both have similar upside. Wennberg appears one year closer, if that means much.

Wennberg is almost 2 years older (and was drafted 1 year earlier), so he has that going for him.

I think Fiala is the better bet longterm and only expect him to be a year behind. Assuming Wennberg gets time this year.

Well, Wennberg ended up going 1 pick before mine in the draft and I ultimately decided that Vasilevski's potential was too much to pass on so I grabbed him instead. Fiala was taken immediately after my pick. Thanks for the input guys, I'll post here when my 3rd round pick comes up!

Nothing wrong with Vasilevskiy, nice choice. I like him over both Wennberg and Fiala.

I agree that Wennberg is quite a bit closer by I prefer Fiala long term by a fair margin. I'm a fan of both but I think Fiala can be a special player.
