I trust Pomminville more. Ryan, in a perfect season could have a higher upside at this point, but he seems to yo-yo or just flat out disappoint. Pomminville is more consistent and should get 60-65 Pts.
Pomminville
Ryan
I can't decide on my last keeper, who is in, who is out!

I own both of them and I'll keep Pommer over Ryan....

Surprised. I thought I would be the only one to take Pomer over Ryan... But refreshing to see that many are in the same camp as me. As consistent as they come!
only way i'd keep ryan is if i could trade him for a better return, i think he has the higher "name" value. otherwise stick with pommy.
Ryan gets bell rung. Yet another reason to move to Pominville.
pretty even. I'll take Ryan for the upside. Both should be 60 pointers every year.
It's a dead heat so far, 5 votes Ryan and 5 votes Pommer. No wonder I have a headache. Here is what concerns me, below are Ryans' stats:
GP Pts
70 48
46 30
82 57
82 71
81 69
Ryan has not hit 60 pts in the last three years! Yet 69 and 71 in his first two years. Is this not a little weird? What is going on here gentlemen??
Pommer on the other hand, as many of you have pointed out, and has hit 60 much more consistently. And yet.....
I'd love to hear more opinions before having to make a decision.

Very Interesting. Do you think this is more a result of what Pominville brings to the table vs what Ryan has "yet to bring?"
Maybe Ryan got screwed a little being the 2nd pick to Crosby? kinda hard to be mentioned in the top 3 of that draft and not be a perenial all star/PPG threat.
I'll take Ryan. He's 27 and appears to be healthy. Pretty much all his points came from the Turris/MacArthur line, which is still intact, so the loss of Spezza is nothing to him. He'll still be on the PP with Karlsson. He was playing injured 4 months last year and still scored at a 56-point pace to Pominville's 60. And he's in a contract year. Also Pomminville is turning 32 this year which makes me nervous. I feel like Ryan is going to be a major steal this year judging by this thread.
10-team H2H points keeper league, keep 4

I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you clarify? I think Ryan is more skilled and has more upside. Whether he realizes it is not important IMO as I think both should be the same point-wise in a normal year for both.

I agree. Your worst case is getting that 56 point player. Why not take the gamble for the extra points that he showed at the beginning of the year (was on a great pace even though that's not sustainable IMO).

Yeah for sure, probably didn't articulate my question properly.
When Ryan was drafted to the Ducks, (Perhaps he was over hyped ... but I did watch him play in Owen Sound) I figured he'd be a lock to eventually hit PPG status consistently in his career. While he seemed to dazzle with multiple 30 + goal years, he just wasn't able to reach those projections.
Pominville, on the other hand, IS expected to be a 60-65 pont player...with 70 being an outstanding year for him.
I agree with you that Ryan has the better skill set and potential for higher ceiling, not to mention that age is on his side..
so fast forward to this thread, I find it very interesting that more people are choosing Pominville over Ryan.
Which then leads to my original question... Given Ryan's better skill set and higher ceiling, is Pominville getting picked over Ryan more a reflection of Pomiville's production or that of Ryan's lack of production or inability to hit an imaginary bar that has been set for him (perhaps due in part to his draft position and co-draftee's?
In the end it's probably a rhetorical question... just seems that Ryan has continued to fall from grace in the public eye even after the move to Ottawa.
thanks
