Default He wants my Backstrom: enough return?

A GM wants my Backstrom badly, he came to me with:

    My Backstrom

    for

    ¸
    His

    RNH
    Hedman

    Enough return for Backstrom? Thoughts?

I like it personally, backstrom is huge in points only but RNH should be good and Hedman is also a stud, I'd say go for it.

Nah, you would be losing the best player in a limited shallow keeper.
Keep Backstrom, points only he is easily a Top 20 player. RNH hasn't impressed much yet, and yes Hedman is pretty awesome but - not worth it.

Ugh- I dont know enough about cap leagues. Ill say this- I would VERY EASILY do this if there were no cap reprecussions. RNH and Hedman??? Very easily...

Even if there weren't cap repercussions I wouldn't do it. How can you trade a player that is 26 and is PPG FOR HIS CAREER (!!!!!) for that return???

    Easily.

RNH projects to be a ppg or better- and Hedman is THE d-man to own. 55 points on your backend is such a brutal lead- havew posted the numbers before but they drop off quick. Hes like a 10 point lead on other top options- AND hes still got upside. Imho RNH is crazy underrated this year based on his ppg totals. Like I said Id very easily do this- Im having a tough time seeing why you wouldnt...

In an 8 team league, its tough. Every team "should be" loaded with all kinds of studs. The one thing that people tend to forget in these 2 for 1 deals is the extra guy, the guy you will need to drop in order to make room for the extra body coming to you. Unless you are sitting with an open spot on your roster you will need to make room.

    Really the deal is:

    Backstrom + drop player

    for

    RNH + Hedman

Insert that name and then take another look at the deal. I am an Oilers fan but I am still not completely sold on Nuge just yet. Hedman is nice but is he going to make up the difference here?

    Right now, I'm keeping Backstrom.

I would keep Backstrom as well you know why your getting no surprises in a points only with no extra weight to goals he's just outside the top 5, and in the top 10 for sure

Backstrom is the best player in the deal. In an only 8 team keeper you need to hold onto the top guys.
RNH projects to be ppg but he's not there yet. Backstrom is still very young too.

It sure is enough, hell yes. I think Hedman will be a Top 5 D for this year

I wouldn’t go for anyone outside of a 3rd round pick. He’s a 79pt player minimum. Benn, Kessel, Hall, Karlsson, Kopitar and Duchene are all with Backstrom. Dudes got a crazy low value to his name for some reason. Fun to own, terrible to trade off. I suggest to people who have him make sure you’re on a compete now team because no one is willing to take him in a trade for the value that he has.

Have you declared keepers yet, or not. If not, then I don't like the deal so much for you as you are dropping a pretty decent D guy to make this deal. Otherwise, RHN is going to be okay and Hedman a stud so I would do it.

How I look at it is: "Backstrom is a nice player, but is he going to make up the difference here?"

Hedman is to defensemen as Giroux or Seguin are to forwards. Backstrom is close, this year he should be well into the 80s. But I'm more comfortable saying Hedman will get 60 than I am saying Backstrom gets 90.

You could very well be right on both accounts. That being said, I consider Backstrom more than a "nice player". I am still curious as to who he will be forced to drop to make up the room for taking on two players and only sending back one.
