Default Should I consider these offers for HALL??

I own Hall and have a couple of options to consider. Both are basically 241s (maybe a low end toss in to even it)

    A) Couture and Justin Schultz

my take: Couture is a solid 70 point guy but no 100 pt potential like Hall. Justin case is still very much a risk IMO, but in a pure points only, where D goals count triple, it is tempting and he forms a nice D core with Hedman and Josi. Does the combo of Couture/Schultz make it worth losing my cornerstone player?

    B) OEL and Hodgson

my take: Hodgson not even in the same discussion as Hall, but he is decent enough. This one is about OEL - he is glimmering shimmering gold in my league

Leaning towards just keeping Hall but an objective take would be greatly appreciated....

    Keep Hall.

To many unknowns in the deals you would potentially be making. Why take the risk when you own the best player in either trade? Schultz needs to prove more for a trade like this to make sense. As for Hodgson he is just to much of a downgrade vs Hall for it to make sense, I do agree that OEL is a beast, but in this trade the overall deal hurts you.

Keep for sure. Hall is the best player on both those trades and definitely better than both those offers. His value, as well as points will only go up, no harm in sitting on him until you get an irresistable offer.

I'd keep Hall in both those deals also.

FWIW, I've been offered a similar deal for Hall. I'd be getting a player with more upside than Couture (I don't want to say who) and Schultz for Hall. I've said no so far unless I get a prospect included. I just can't give up on Hall's upside and, as others have said, there are too many unknowns about Schultz. He hasn't done much yet and could get a huge contract. My league is a cap league and Gardiner's deal scares me a bit.

So what is likely for Hall over the next couple? Hes emerged as a legit star but does he take it to the 40-50-90 level??

Couture is a 30-40-70 guy lets say. Thats 100 pts in my league. If Hall is a 35-55-90 point guy, that is 125 in our league. That 25 pt difference is significant, but if Schultz emerges as a 15-40-55 (top 10 in our format) D, it gives me pause.

Not trying to talk myself into it, but this is the other side that im pondering

NO! After Hall and Duchene, your forward talent drops. Your d men are solid enough without OEL and Schultz. Hall where goals are 2 points, would be a big loss. Easy no for me. If goals/assists were 1 each, I might consider it longer.

You are forgetting to add in the points from your empty roster spot. You will have somebody there producing points. How many? Who is your worst defenceman? I also think it is foolhardy to think that Schultz will be a 55 point player this year. That would be over a 50% increase on the points he got last year. That is a huge increase and not likely to happen. Not impossible, just improbable.

Hall is currently one step ahead of Couture in his development and in his skill level. I think the best move would be to keep Hall and try to maximize points with your other roster spot in other ways.

I want to scream NOOOOOOO, but somebody already did. Hall is easily the best player in the deal, without adequate compensation coming back (I think I plagiarized that too).

Thanks for taking the time boys. I wasnt planning on moving Hall but the feedback really validates that and cements him in as my cornerstone player

I'd keep Hall unless other gm ices the cake with something that blows you away .

I do understand where you are coming from though with wanting to spread an asset out to make yourself deeper .

Keep Hall. I've been trying to acquire him all offseason. He's a special talent that has done well but if those slouches around him ever got their s#*t together, he could be an elite talent. He's doing it all himself.

Keep him and enjoy the rewards.
