Dynasty multi-cat cap league
I've pretty much won this year with Holtby for the majority of the season. Recent developments in Washington have convinced me that there's a good chance Holtby will be the starter next year. Furthermore, I think the impending Oates firing will only help him, especially given reports earlier in the year that Oates and Kolzig were mind f**king him pretty hard.
I'm looking at trading Mike Smith, Thomas Greiss (his play has convinced me he's not a starter) and Dwight King for Kyle Okposo, Anders Lee, David Savard and a 2016 2nd. Smith and Greiss were both late-season pick-ups, Smith after Halak went to Washington and Greiss after the Smith injury.
The trade has a major impact on my roster for next season
F: Malkin, Tavares, Seguin, Pavelski, Granlund, Scheifele, Coyle, Calvert, Beleskey, Maroon, Z Smith, Dwight King
D: Byfuglien, Hedman, Shattenkirk, Barrie, Gardiner, Bartkowski
G: M Smith
Bench: Santorelli, B Flynn, Radulov, Borowiecki, Folin, Holtby, Markstrom
F: Malkin, Tavares, Seguin, Pavelski, Kadri, Okposo, Granlund, Scheifele, Coyle, Calvert, Maroon, Beleskey
D: Byfuglein, Hedman, Shattenkirk, Barrie, Gardiner, Bartkowski
Bench: Santorelli, B Flynn, Z Smith, A Lee, Radulov, Borowiecki, Folin, Savard, Markstrom
In both situations I'd still be looking to trade Ribeiro, P Martin, Giordano and Glencross
Basically by trading M Smith yes I gamble significantly in net but my skaters, admittedly already a strength become so much stronger and deeper.
