    Default Good news on Christian Friedrich

    This is great to see.

    "The Denver Post reports Rockies pitching prospect Christian Friedrich is drawing favorable reviews early in camp. The left-handed starter has lost nearly 35 pounds. "He has jumped into a different body and a different brain. He's maturing and showing a very good arm," pitching coach Bob Apodaca said."

    Don't know much about Friedrich, is he a guy worth targeting? I was thinking about offering Pomeranz straight up for him, or should I keep Pomeranz?

    I wouldn't deal Pomeranz, what I was saying is Friedrich is a good target late as a prospect in any draft. He's still got a ton of potential.

If you're willing to wait on this guy, you could really benefit once he's a major leaguer.
    Ahhhh, I remembered this quote from the underrated prospects thread. I'll see if I can try to pry him away for something else.

    So do you think Pomeranz is the better pitcher?

    Pomeranz is pretty much the top prospect in the Rockies system and should be a beast.

    Default friedrich so far this spring;

    one walk and ten k's in his first eight innings. allowed some runs, but that zone control is very encouraging.

    Not many options but I'm thinking about AJ Cole, RHP OAK.

    AJ Cole is nothing special and he's going to have a hard time cracking that pitching rotation in the future IMO. Peacock, Braden, Parker, Anderson, Milone and others are standing in his way. I'd rather take a chance on Friedrich because of his upside.
