Come on bounce back year Bobby Ryan!
" You said you don't give a f*ck about hockey. I've never heard anyone say that before."
I'm hopeful for the same with Ovi. He's looking better to me in these playoffs. Playing with some fire in his belly, but he's also been benched... Dale Hunter is not the right guy to get the right stuff out of Ovi.

i like big ev's list but if its points only then i think i swap landeskog out for hall, landeskog is a multi-cat stud, but in a points only a healthy hall (i personally think his injuries wont keep repeating, half are flukey/bad luck)
on the top line in edm (no lw depth behind him to challenge/whereas ebs may be challenged by yakupov on RW if oil select him) makes poolies salivate at a potential ppg + season out of hall. He was 1st overall for a reason and is still only 20, tons of time to grow.

Neal and Eriksson should be RW'ers. Kovalchuk probably too.
So I'd go with:
1. Ovechkin
2. D.Sedin
3. Parise
4. Ryan
5. E.Kane
6. Hall
7. Landeskog
8. Sharp
9. Pacioretty
10. Vanek

The top 10 LW will definitely be my favourite of the bunch.
(Do... try to get the positions right though. Please make an assumption that the hockey providers will get the positions correct. Or, at least mention/asterik what assumptions you are rolling with)
James Neal is definitely a RW. He hasn't played a lick of LW all year.
Kunitz - Malkin - Neal (all year)
Kovalchuk also played RW all year.
Parise - NJ Center - Kovalchuk (all year)
Loui Eriksson flips wing spots as needed.
When he plays with Michael Ryder, Eriksson plays LW.
When he plays with Ott/Benn, Eriksson plays RW.
He has no trouble switching.
Jamie Benn (751 FO) actually played more LW than Center this year.
Steve Ott (1011 FO) actually played more Center than LW this year.
I speculated on this earlier in the year due to Face-Off proficiency.
People can make all the arguments they want about where the guy actually plays once play is underway - just remember this: Statistical Providers log minutes by placing a guy in a position at each faceoff. The pure statistics only see the numbers... which makes a guy taking Faceoffs a better candidate to be a center next year.
My guess for 2012-2013 start-of-year position eligibility:
Neal RW
Kovalchuk RW
Ott C/LW
Benn C/LW
My top 10:
1. Ovechkin (LW)
2. D.Sedin (LW)
3. Parise (LW)
...
...
4. Benn (C/LW)
5. E.Kane (LW)
6. B.Ryan (LW)
7. Hartnell (LW)
8. Landeskog (LW)
9. Eriksson (LW/RW)
10. Lupul (LW)
*. P.Sharp (C/LW)
It is hard to leave a consistent guy like Patrick Sharp off this list who has been Yahoo!s poster boy for multi-position eligibility.

I think Hartnell might be getting some Top 10 love this year.
Hartnell and Pacioretty for sure. And where is the love for Matt Moulson!?!?! He'd be my #10.
Solid discussion, gents. Going to do my best to get positions accurate.
My list would look like this:
1. Ovechkin
2. D.Sedin
3. Parise
4. E. Kane
5. Ryan
6. Lucic
7. Hall
8. Landeskog
9. Eriksson
10. Moulson
Not sure if Zetterberg still falls in to the LW cat or not, but if so, he would land at #4 for me, then slide everyone else down one.
HM - Sharp, Vanek, Hartnell, Max Pac.

Fear not gents, finalizing the list this weekend. Will be up next week. Enjoyed putting this one together. Had a fun time ranking Ovechkin...
