What surprises me more is Bergevin is still around to make deadline deals. Not sure it's wise to have dead-man-walking making decisions on the future of the team
Pierre Lebrun
Habs trade Jerabek to the Caps for a 5th Rd pick in 2019. Mildly surprised. He's UFA July 1 and the Habs had showed interest in maybe keeping him around...

Jerabek was one of the few bright spot on the team this year and we didn't really give him a chance.
Mind you I felt the same way about Jiri Sekac and look what happened to him, what do I know :-/

On the bright side, Montreal still has Morrow, Benn, Schlemko and Alzer "anchoring" the blue line.

Maybe Habs are following suit with the Rangers.
Whatever it takes to sink down to bottom five range!
The 2-5 prospects are forecasted by many to be close... so I'm wondering if we actually see some passive-tanking via vets (or any solid-ish older player) being moved.
Chase for the Picks:
44 Arizona (& playing well)
45 Buffalo (flailing hard)
51 Ottawa (unfortunately playing well now..)
52 Montreal (and looking like a bottom two contender!)
52 Edmonton
53 Vancouver
...
59 NY Rangers (and now playing like a bottom 2 NHL team... btw when is this team going to realize that NOT starting Lundqvist might help even more!!! LOL. All 10 starts in February!)
If the lottery three come from those, the 4-5-6 are still in probably getting a good player (if Dahlin... Zadina/Svech/Hughes... Boqvist... Wahlstrom... Tkachuk?).
^Awesome.
Does that mean that Niemi starts for Montreal?!
[I've also decided to invest in McLeod-Deslauriers tilt at... 3:21 of the 1st period.]
For a fifth round pick.

Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
I would think they approached him about sticking around beyond this year. I wouldn't blame the guy if he used his upcoming UFA status to semi-force a trade. The Habs did not feature him well at all and sat him out for long stretches despite him doing nothing to deserve being benched.

what's his story? does he have any upside? how do we like his future in Washington?
One of the only dmen on this squad who was able to make decent first passes to exit the zone... still he was benched and now he is traded for a fifth round pick.
It tells you everything you need to know about the Habs defence.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
