even though I am not a big fan of him, I see this as a deal the Sens would look to make. The two clubs have a history of trading, but maybe Yzerman wouldn't want to move him in the division Sens have the young pieces and/or picks necessary for a deal.

I was thinking the exact same thing since the rumour came out, Benning is likely desperate to make a splash type deal to continue the rebuild and those are two pieces that Tbay being a contending team could absolutely use.

Just curious. How many players who demand to be traded actually are? I feel like we here these all the time, but never see the results. Marty St. Louis was a big one but that was still a couple of years back.

Apparently the Rangers called about Drouin. They really have nothing to play with unless it’s Nash, Yandle, Staal or McDonagh. And I can’t see it being McDonagh.
Brady Skjei was the last 1st round pick and that was in 2012, then JT Miller in 2011. I guess Tambalini would be their best prospect not in the NHL, but he’s not even anything that’s WOW worthy.

Young guys who ask for a trade rarely get it.
Spezza, Heatley, MSL, guys like that who are major pieces of their teams get traded when the request it because the situation usually becomes awkward, poisonous to the team, and generally just untenable.

Yeah those were veteran players so that makes quite a difference compared to someone on an entry level contract.
Kane, and even Hamonic, was on his 2nd contract when he requested a trade as opposed to an ELC with no waiver protection, I can see that making a big difference too.

It would be interesting for the Toronto deal, JvR has a no trade clause where I think it’s 100% full no trade clause. He doesn’t even submit the 10 team list that most players have to do now.
NYR - Yandle is a FA this offseason, so there would have to be more a lot more than a pick (because they don’t own a 1st round this yr).

I would take Drouin for Morin and a pick! Flyers need some future at forward.
I don't think your Toronto one makes sense... Toronto wants to get younger... Drouin is younger than JVR but Carle is older and TOR is not is position that they want to give up decent picks.
