Wow, he won't be unemployed long.

The Cleveland Browns announced on Wednesday they have released veteran cornerback Joe Haden.
Sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday that the Browns were open to trade offers for Haden, who was due to be paid $11.1 million this season.
Haden, who was Cleveland's first-round pick in 2010, has fought through injuries the past two seasons. He missed 11 games in 2015 with a finger injury and concussion. In 2016, he missed three games and played through two groin issues that required postseason surgery.
Haden, 28, is not subject to waivers and is free to sign with another team after 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Two teams expected to have strong interest in Haden are the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Tons of interest in him," Haden's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter. "He will have a new deal with another team by tomorrow afternoon."
Haden, who last went to the Pro Bowl in 2014, was also set to make $11.2 million and $10.4 million in 2018 and '19.
Releasing Haden will cost the Browns $3.2 million in cap space this season and $3.2 million next season. He signed a five-year contract extension in May 2014.
"We want to thank Joe for all he has done for this organization both on and off the field," Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said in a statement. "He has been a great teammate and a true asset to the Cleveland community. These are very difficult decisions, we have the utmost respect for Joe and in my eyes, he will always be a Cleveland Brown."

Me too. He's been a perceived elite corner for a long time, he was someone to attack in fantasy.
Haden was a real liability last season. Wonder if that had more to do with the injuries that were mentioned? I have to admit, I had assumed that he was older than 28.
Roster cut down day is going to be a fiasco this year.

He's not a starter on a good defense, but Haden should be owned by a team. Haven't seen him play in a bit (since Josh Gordon's played prolly), but maybe a switch to SS or FS would do wonders.

If any of you guys are willing to pull a dink move in an auction draft here is one for you:
Nominate David Johnson early in the draft, but make sure you nominate David Johnson the TE from the Pittsburgh Steelers, and see how much he goes for!
I just heard a story about someone doing that and everyone in the league thought it was ARizona RB David Johnson... how pissed would you be if it was the other one.
I would personally not do this because it is a complete dink move... but figured I would share with you.
Signed with the Steelers for 3 years, $9 million per.

It's not a dink move. It's smart. Pay attention in your draft. It's not like the only info other people get is the name.

Could be a nice boost to Dorsett`s fantasy value.

Juju Smith-Schuster`s value just took a bump too. Sammy Coates probably did too.

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a trade with Pittsburgh that will send WR Sammie Coates and a 2019 seventh-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick.
Coates is 6-1, 212 pounds and in his third NFL season out of Auburn. Originally a third-round pick by Pittsburgh in 2015, Coates has appeared in 20 games with five starts. He has registered 22 receptions for 446 yards and two touchdowns. He has also averaged 25.0 yards per kickoff return in his career. In 2016, he appeared in 14 games with five starts and logged 21 receptions for 435 yards and two touchdowns. He is a native of Leroy, Ala.
The 2018 sixth-round pick going to Pittsburgh was originally acquired from the Steelers in exchange for DB Justin Gilbert on Sept. 3, 2016.

Chiefs release CJ Spiller. Man, RBs have a short life span in the NFL.
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt....html?_rmflush
The Chiefs have to pare their roster from 90 to 53 players by 3 p.m. Saturday. Here’s a running tracker of their cuts with some analysis.
2:27 p.m. — The Chiefs have released running back C.J. Spiller, a source told The Star.
Analysis: This is surprise because Spiller looked great in camp and absolutely deserves to make to the team out of camp. The Chiefs still need a third running back though, so either there’s another back they like out there or he comes back at some point. After a few injury-marred years, Spiller showed in the preseason that he has plenty of juice left so I expect him to be fine.
