Hockey departments are becoming giant corporations quickly...

Just wait till Trotz eventually leaves and his new team invents a "promotion" position called Super Director of Goal Prevention. Korn will be all over that!

Below Korn will be Greco, the new director of goaltending. And then the day-to-day goalie coach will be someone else.

Coach's meetings have become board meetings... Do they follow Robert's rules of order? Do they need a motion to determine the evening starter?

So the Isles rolled this top 6 last night:

    Lee - Nelson - Eberle
    Beauvillier - Barzal - Bailey

Bailey with a beautiful one-timer for the PPG off the nice feed from Barzal.

If this sticks, I could see Bailey having yet another big year.

Lee also stuffed one in on the PP, not too surprising.

He may not score 40 but he should be good for 28+ .

your guess is as good as mine with regards to there being a mutual desire to stick around long term .He's a pro's pro and the youngish isles really look up to his on/off ice attitude .

Lee is very VERY well liked by the brass and his teammates - future Captain material for sure. My guess is he signs a long term deal soon.

As for production, the jury is out on all Isles with the JT departure - and most prognosticators are taking the "under" on guys like Bailey, Lee, even Barzal. I think it's unlikely Lee scores 40 again as the PP won't be as prolific, but I think 30+ is most certainly achievable and I'd say reasonable chance at 35. Barzal running the PP instead of JT is not a major downgrade. Question will be whether Lee can be as productive at 5 v 5 and there I thought he was underrated. Guys like Lee score a bunch, they park themselves in the danger areas and don't move, that kind of production is less likely to suffer imo.

Thanks. Lee is an interesting animal - so many detractors, there was one article on Dobber awhile back where he was seen as a major major candidate for regression even before the Tavares trade (a Cage Match maybe?). I think he's one of those guys who is just going to make it work despite all that - he'll have a reasonably high shooting percentage because he scores most of his goals from in close, and he'll always have a role on the PP (he's one of the better net front guys in the league already). For sure the Tavares departure wasn't good for him, they had such great chemistry (along with Bailey), but to point to that as reason for him cratering is I think a bit much. You don't score 34 and 40 goals two years running without having some pretty solid talent. And yes, there is the Cheechoo factor, and guys like Moulson on the Isles - I just don't see Lee being in that category, I think he'll always be underrated. But hey I could be wrong.
