Still Meier for me
14 team H2H: Keep 8
Cats- G,A,Pts,PP, SOG, Hits, +\-, GWG.
I am curious who is the better keeper between Meier and Boldy for next season and beyond. Meier is having a down season but offers more categories; however, Boldy is rounding out into form and putting up points.
Any advice will be great.
Thank you.

If Meier was having a down season on the same team he was on for a while I’d probably go with him, but not knowing how he will do with New Jersey going forward I’d go with Boldy. He is starting to shoot the puck a lot more lately, already has 5 GWG and can keep getting better as Minnesota does. His lack of Hits isn’t great but can always work on getting those elsewhere.
Boldy
Meier
super intriguing comparison! I will be honest, I am still a big Meier believer and think he will bounce back. with that said, I think I buy boldys offensive upside more(or to put it another way, his offensive ceiling will make up for the lesser banger profile of meiers), and with his younger age in a keeper I think I would swing this way. as a Meier owner as well, I have seen first hand how low his trade value has dropped in leagues throughout the year.
I have both of these guys. It's an interesting question. Meier's .55 pts/game are really sub-keeper level for me, but I still might take him over Boldy just because of his multicat abilities and the potential for a bounceback. It wouldn't have been a question for me at the start of the season, but Meier's continued decline (perhaps in part due to a bunch of injuries) in productivity has definitely got me thinking about changing my vote. These questions usually become easy to answer in the offseason. Let's see how the two finish things.

Meier has really turned it up again. Looking a lot better, getting more opportunities. Was heating up even before the coaching change and Toffoli trade.

Boldy by a huge margin at this point
So Ruff forces Meier to play on his off Wing while limiting his deployment. When Ruff was fired at the beginning of the month and Meier was put back on his normal side, he ‘magically’ becomes the hottest goal scorer in the NHL with 10 goals & 15 points this month? With Ruff gone, I don’t see the new coach ever putting Meier back on the opposite wing.
I obviously don’t think Meier paces for 82 goals like he has this month, but I think it’s safe to assume that with the deployment he deserved Meier is the one you want over Boldy. Add in his massively better peripherals, and it is Meier that wins by a decent margin in my opinion.
