The Chicago Blackhawks demands for Patrick Sharp are reportedly sky high.
Chicago reportedly wants a first round pick, top-tier prospect, and a top-six forward on an entry-level contract. There's nothing wrong with them putting up a high price now so that they have something to work down from, but it would be shocking to see a team meet those demands. It is worth noting though that the weak UFA market might lead to Chicago getting more for him than some might suspect, even if they won't end up with everything they're demanding. Sharp had 16 goals and 43 points in 68 contests in 2014-15 and will turn 34 in December. He has two years left on his deal with a $5.9 million annual cap hit.

That's a pretty steep starting price, but I assume that's what it is; a starting point. I don't see them getting nearly that much for him but crazier things have happened.

That is $ 57.5 million for just 9 players, Chicago has to move a big contract, otherwise there's no way they can fill the roster up with enough quality. So there will be a moment when the Hawks will pretty much move whomever they can (besides Kane, Toews or Keith) for as much as they can get.

I doubt anyone will take Sharp with his heavy cap hit and still pay that price.
