    Default Michalek

20 points in his 13 last games playing with Thornton.

My question is: who is gonna play with Thornton- Cheechoo next year ? Do you think Michalek will be on Thornton line or Marleau (not bad at all) ? I could get Michalek for Elias in a NON-keeper ligue, What do you think ?

I kinda think they may try Pavelski on that line, and keep Michalek with Marleau...which isn\'t a bad thing...

    Hello Duff \'et al\'

I would do that deal. I would prefer to own Michalek. He is 23 years old while Elias is 31.

    Michalek: 26 goals, 40 assists - 66 points in 78 games
    Elias: 21 goals, 48 assists - 69 points in 75 games

I like the cast on San Jose better than New Jersey. You stand to gain more with Michalek. You know what you are getting with Elias but he has lost Gomez.

The upside with Michalek is greater at a much younger age.

In a keeper i woudn\'t hesitate at all. But next year ? I know that Elias can produce 90 points (last year was maybe a off-year) even with Gomez gone. But Michalek on a Thornton line... Next year only, that league is non-keeper. G,A,sog,+/-,Pim

As a fantasy GM already burned by trading Michalek a few years ago (I kept S. Bernier after Michalek injury), keep him.

He\'s surroundede by gobs of talent in SJ.

I would make the trade if it could be sweetened a little for your side - straight 1 for 1 in a 1 year league I would keep Elias. Sometimes the best trade is the one you don\'t make.

My opinion Duff would be to keep Elias in a one-year league, he will score more then Michalek this upcoming season. Keeper league would be different, I would then ask for a bit more and aquire Michalek.

    Hello again Duff \'et al\'

Duff, my original comments were made largely in consideration of a keeper pool (sorry) but I am not sure that my opinion changes in consideration of your pool being \'non keeper\'. I don\'t think that Elias will get near to the 90 point mark. I am not sure that you won\'t see a repeat of last year for Elias. The loss of Gomez is significant to Elias. Just my thoughts, no disrespect intended.

I really like the upside of Michalek. Even if he didn\'t play with Thornton, I don\'t think that there is much that separates these two guys. I think that Michalek will at least match Elias\'s points and has the potential, considering his support cast, to be better.

I would still go with Michalek, but I have been wrong before.

They will definitely keep Cheechoo-Thornton--Michalek together.
They showed great chemistry near the end of the regular season.
