I dont like either deal. You barely shed any in trade B.
I would outright drop Alzner & J Johnson to save over 8 mil before either of those trades.

To be honest, I think Trade#1 was a slight loss, but if you feel strongly in Klingberg, then it wasn't crazy bad. That second deal, even before news of P.Kane's potentially huge problem, to go along with his massive cap hit, getting Letang and Nesterov (not a fan of Bennett) was an outright coup in my opinion. I really like Letang, even though his cap hit is high and his penchant for getting hurt. The real beauty of Letang is that he produces when he's healthy and when he's hurt, you can put him on IR and find some high priced help via the waiver wire (assuming there are some expensive vets just sitting as FA's).

Cap leagues certainly aren't for the general hockey fan. You need committed, hardcore, and extremely knowledgeable managers in order for them to work; managers who can find value in the players who are selected in fewer than 10% of pools. I would never go back to a non-cap league again.
Ya I have always been in non-cap leagues and now just started one....24 teams deep! Will be very interesting to see the transition in player values etc.

Ya with all their team success I am surprised they signed for over 10 mil each....just so much room to commit to two players.

Yea cap leagues are certainly an interesting beast. Especially when teams go and give out massive contracts. Having big name FA's in my league is just strange, not used to it haha. (Datsyuk, Edler, Marleau, Sedin, Suter, Staal, Thornton, etc)
Thanks for the feedback guys. I had a feeling hte first one was a little bit of overpayment. I liked the second one though and now with the added bonus of hte kane investigation he is already back on the trade block lol.

I would take the deal. You're giving up a lot of pieces that could end up being pretty good but you're not giving up anyone even near McDavid in value, so it's worth it.
In new dynasty leagues with salary cap, McDavid is very often taken #1 right now. So ahead of guys like Tavares, Crosby etc. Nichushkin and Gibson are nice pieces but more like in the #80 pick range more likely. JJ and Ziba are maybe Top-120 players.
Thats pretty much what i figured JP. I am giving away a lot of quality pieces, but not elite pieces. Would love to keep specifically Nichushkin but not sure its worth screwing up the deal to try and do ha.
