I'd say he's still a fringe top 10 goalie.
With Husso gone, Binnington seems to be the starter on a good St-Louis Blues team. He seemed to be back in fom in the post season, after looking calamitous in the regular season. What's his value in a points only, Win and SO league?
I'd say he's still a fringe top 10 goalie.

He’s an uncontested starter so he’s got value there. Now the problem with him is his consistency. If he can put it altogether then he’s a top 5-7 goalie but realistically he should be in the 10-15 range.
Call me old one more time.

There's always surprise goalies each year. Maybe this year one can be Binnington!
I think he'd be a good one to keep a close eye on.

Risky second goalie.
Beggars cant be choosers though, starter on a bonafide playoff team is valuable
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
In a W and SO league, you're basically getting the team results. So given that he is the uncontested starter in St. Louis, you're betting on the Blues. it's a safe bet that he is likely around a top 10 or so option in the league, which is valuable.

Don't want him as your team's #1 goalie, but can live with him being your team's #2.
How is the Blues D gonna be next year? They were not good to their goalie last year and Im not sure theyre making changes back there. He may be a starter but he is gonna see lots of rubber. Points only he should be good for 35W? Not many SO imo.
Lots of great speculations so far in this thread. All valid. Bottom line, voodoo city, take your chances. 60% he delivers, 40% he shits the bed. Most goalies, IMO, are 50/50 so he's worth a shot.
I don't like goalies (:

He's a good option in a W-SO league because you are minimizing risk. I also subscribe to the yo-yo theory on goalies. Last year's disappointment is this year's value. I look to Markstrom as an example. Not great two years ago and slipped in drafts as a result but bounced back huge.
I find myself on the voodoo train too and always saying I don’t like goalies, but I think it might be the coaches that cause this. Like analytics have damaged baseball a little when I see a pitcher get pulled after he walks a batter in the 5th inning having yet to let up a run, I hate how coaches now play the hot hand and if no hand is getting hot, they don’t let a goalie work his way out of a rut and into a groove.
