Tribalistic fans are the worst. All fan bases have this, bigger fan base have more of them, and it’s disgusting.

Apparently Jets players were yelling at MTL players while Evans was on the ice still saying it was Evans own fault for not looking up, and Wheeler had to yell at his own team to stfu.

Needless to say, it's gonna be rough tonight regardless of Scheifele not being in the lineup.

What did you expect Evans to do... not score the insurance empty net goal for fear of being hit? What's next... should forwards avoid going into corners to fetch loose pucks because they're vulnerable? Should goalies stay in their net at all times and not leave their crease? Should forwards stop skating E-W to avoid big hits?

His take is as meaningless as mine or yours is.
So Evans goes behind the net retrieves the puck that's maybe at most 3 feet from an open net to sweep in. But no that's not the play (according to Commie)? He's suppose to just skate into the corner, pass it to a teammate. So instead of sweeping it in securing the win, you go into the corner risk getting taken out, pass the puck? risk getting incepted. Risk Jets getting the puck going down and scoring.
What a joke.

at the top of the circle he probably thinks he has a big enough gap. But that gap closes and he probably should have taken another look.

As a D man going into the corner in a similar fashion to how Evans went to get the puck.. you are taught to give a couple shoulder checks to see where the pressure is coming from and to aid in making the decisions of which way to go.

Regardless head down doesn't mean he's open game to be creamed. Just because you leave your door unlocked doesn't mean you deserve to be robbed.

Right...
Players will always be in vulnerable positions throughout the game. It's just going to be like that. Just can't be open season when someone is found with their head down (for one example). I don't think it's going to take away from the game.

Again, hitting is PART OF THE GAME! It's not comparable to getting robbed! Make better analogies.

Protecting yourself is part of the game. You think McDavid would have come around the net blindly like that to tuck one in and get creamed? Fat chance, game-securing goal or not, because he would have seen it coming by the time he was behind the net and switched to plan B.
