I am going based on the article I referenced. Here is the full quote:

Of the known mass shooting cases (32.5% of cases could not be confirmed), 77% of those who engaged in mass shootings purchased at least some of their guns legally, while illegal purchases were made by 13% of those committing mass shootings. In cases involving K-12 school shootings, over 80% of individuals who engaged in shootings stole guns from family members.

It's a pretty flawed article/study using a 54 year timeline of 1966-2019. Important data, but not entirely all that relevant. For example, using an 18 year timeline, 2004-2022 (IE the gap between when the US assault rifle ban - yes one existed - expired to today) would be far more pertinent data to use than a 54 year timeline. Of course for 39 years (1966-2004) using handguns was more common. America has only really fetishized assault weapons over the last 10-15 years. I'd imagine the stats over the last 18 years looks drastically different, however we don't have those studies thanks to the NRA.

I'm all for using data, but lets contextualize that data a little bit. America has always had a gun problem, but the gun problems of 1980 are far different from the gun problems post 2010. Namely, America actually passed some laws to address their gun problems, which were then allowed to expire, and now we are here again.

Takes them forever to pass any kind of gun control laws but threaten a justice of the Supreme Court and laws get passed without a problem. It’s funny how many people actually believe Buffalo and Uvalde were just kids killing randomly. They were targeted for their mental health issues previously known and tracked by the FBI and then contracted by all the agencies above to go kill. Buffalo had a specific target as well as demographic, Uvalde just wanted to kill kids to push their agenda and the corrupt police force stood by like soyboys.

What exactly is wrong with it? It's his opinion and the last time I looked, that's allowed. I may not agree with it, but that happens all the time in differing sections of the forums.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If you are going to be offended because you dont like someones opinion, especially in this section, maybe stop coming into the mosh pit called Get Political.

This is, and always has been, a sports forum first but this section was created to keep the slop and garbage out of the regular posts. If you can show me where in the forum policy/rules that he has done something wrong, I will gladly follow up with it. Until then, I suggest you simply stop clicking on these links and block seeing this section from your updates. No one likes stepping in garbage, but here we are.

There are loads of active threads with people crying for advice and help with their fantasy hockey and baseball teams. Feel free to chime in there and offer some help. Less garbage.

Again, there's more to Dobber Hockey than the Get Political section. I am sure you came here originally for the hockey content. Make it that way again. Why is that such a hard thing to do? Stop clicking the garbage. This is not a political forum with hockey thrown in on the side.

I hate the garbage in the Get Political section but I can't just police it any which way I want or a certain way because you don't like something that was said in there. There's set rules for this forum and they are made by one man. If you don't agree with the rules, contact him and discuss. He's extremely open to it. I just follow his lead as best I can. I do apologize if you don't like that.
