Thanks for getting things going bstbullies - one of my favourite threads of the year!
I think whoever got Dobson at 14 did very well and Kravtsof at 21 is a steal (if he ever comes over to play in the NHL).
I know it's early but I already had my first prospect draft. I was not as prepared as I wanted to be. Last years 2017 results thread was really helpful for me as I was able to get a good idea of where players where gonna go. I know formats differ but with so many draft results I was shocked how the averages where so similar. Anyhoo, here's the result. 16 team H2H multicat dynasty 5 rounds <40 gp are eligible. Dmen are weighted so they have pretty even value to forwards.

I apologize for the formatting, my excel skills suck. I was happy with Tkachuck falling to me and grabbing Batherson at 43. I think that is a steal. I may kick myself for the Kaut pick as I was eyeing him and Akil, which of course Akil went next pick. I did try and trade back in after my Batherson pick with Sandin still on the board. No dice. Can't believe he dropped all the way to 50. Happy drafting boys, cheers and good luck.

Barrett Hayton at 24th it's far I think.
🙌🏼...I participated in this draft, as well (hey, bstbullies). If anyone wants to give some feedback, my picks were Noah Dobson (14), Lukas Elvenes (32)--(Big fan of his), Wade Allison (46), Jack McBain (62), Josh Mahura (67), Boris Katchouk (71), and Lawrence Pilut (78).
wow you draft before you know what teams will draft players? wow
anyhow, Wahlstrome at 7 could be a steal.

I know some leagues go ahead of the draft as well and it's a great challenge. This league has a plethora of very knowledgeable GM's that are very hip to the prospects (here's looking at you pattyB!). I do most of my research off of threads like these, hence I was behind the curve. I shoulda posted team names but I suck at excel.
Whalstrom at 7 was a surprise to me and could be a steal. We'll see how other drafts go but I'd be surprised seeing Tkachuck drop out of the top 10. Hayton at 24 as Sly mentioned was another surprise. I see Dobson going a lot higher come June.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I'm not really sure why people are so shocked with Dobson at #14, Kravtsov at #21 and Hayton at #24. They "dropped" a couple of spots because some older prospects were drafted ahead of them so if we only look at 2018 draftees, they were #12, #17 and #20 which is very much where I'd take them as well.
The most shocking selection to me is Kristian Tanus at #40. He could realistically go undrafted this summer, so that's definitely a reach. I like the kid but not that early.
EDIT: Didn't notice Petterssen, good catch from tcat. Another guy who could go undrafted this summer and went too early in this draft.
Hard to believe Emilio Pettersson went ahead of guys like Batherson and Appleton. I personally have so much trouble valuing guys who have established themselves as legit prospects with current entry draft guys. Thank god my draft is Entry level only haha

Nice draft and I agree with your comments. Tkakuk at 11 is great value. Akil Thomas stood out as a good value and I would have taken him over Kaut. Batherson at 43 is a very nice pick. I like Lukas Elvenes at 32. He is really flying under the radar since he was a 5th round pick. Sounds like his skating has improved and he has always had high-end playmaking skills.

I started pumping his tires in early February when 99% of the rankings didn't have him included and that 1% had him outside their top 200. I wasn't sure how high he'd climb but I knew he should get more attention than what he was getting... He was still flying under the radar a bit in our draft but I'm guessing that will change now that he's a first-round pick.
