I like all three of the players they're getting, but if you look at the package in total, ...there's really not a lot of upside there.

Dubinsky, and Anisimov are both top six wingers on a bad team, but Dubinsky's the finsished product, and I could be wrong but I don't know that Anisimov has all that much untapped potential.

Erixson from what I've seen and read seems to have an upside that tops out at a top four defender, and his acquisition would seem to mean that Murray doesn't make the club.

The first round pick figures to be in the 26,27 range, ...so there's maybe some "stabilizing" of the forwards by adding Dubinsky and Anisimov, but really not much to "build" with.

For a GM with a bad team, facing a rebuild, and trading away a young star, it's an awful return, and I agree worthy of being a firing offense in and of itself.

For the Rangers, I absolutely love it. They acquired a superstar (i know it's debatable, but for now...) without having to part with any of the top four young player on their roster. If I were Sather, I'd make this deal everyday!

There should be lots of great hockey in the East this year!

    Nash - Richards - Callahan
    Hagelin - Stepan - Gabby

I'm no Rangers fan but is this accurate? Having Doan on that 2nd line over Hagelin would make the Rangers the team to beat for sure. If Weber ends up in Philly then the Atlantic is the division to beat.

The fact that Nash could dictate where he went really limits the other options. There are plenty of teams that could have put together a similar package, but how many of those are ones Nash wants to go to?

never saw that for some reason, my mistake.

most likely an AHL d-man who is not a prospect

Being that Nash can flip wings to accomodate, it makes it much more feasable to land Doan.

That's because he wasn't AHL-eligible last year. He is this year is he not?

NYR stole Nash in this deal..WOW Dubby is the only real good player going to Columbus.
Who's going to sell tickets there now with Nash gone... Maybe Betman will buy 1000 season tickets with NHL $$ to keep Columbus from going bankrupt in the nest 2-3 years lol

Dubi was highly overpaid and overrated. I'm glad to see him go.
