Washington, Buffalo, and Tampa were huge winners in this draft.. I love the Iles pick of Griffin Reinhart.. Dumba to Minnesota was huge for them, glad he went to a place where he won't be in the spotlight..

Teuvo Teravainen going 18th overall to Chicago was a surprise to many, what a steal..
The same can be said for Olli Maatta going 22nd overall to the host Pittsburgh Penguins..

Biggest surprise without a doubt: Mark Jankowski 21st overall to Calgary..

Gal will play 9 games. If the habs trade plekanec or eller, than he could stick for the 82 games. Gal is fit and looks nhl ready, but the habs will not rush him.

Insult my opinion if you like, but if Zibanejad can play 9 games for the Senators right out of the draft, Galchenyuk can play 82.
I'm not insulting your opinion. Relax. He is not just as NHL ready as Yakupov. You're underestimating one year lost. It's a HUGE deal. You're basically saying he could have stepped in to the NHL as a 17 year old.

I also think he could become the best player in this draft. That has nothing to do with him stepping into the NHL or not. Name any player ever who has stepped into the NHL ater barely playing the year before.

if the Habs play him because they need help right now, they are making a bad call and will be taking a step backwards not forwards

How about Nikita Gusev? Anton Slepyshev is also still available.

Galchenyuk will fail as a Hab.

Love what Washington did. They always have a great prospect pool and it became even better.

He's from Atlanta, what do you expect. Maybe the Thrashers rubbed off on him a bit.

Anyone a fan of Pittsburgh drafting Matia Marcantuoni and Anton Zlobin? Possible late round steals?

Final pick of the draft; Nick Ebert to Los Angeles.

I thought he was slated to go in rounds 2-4 so solid pick there.

This draft was so baffling for me. Made it interesting though.

I could understand the Grigorenko slide but considering how much Teravainen was rising that seemed crazy where he ended up - though I don't mind the Hawks as a destination, could be their #2C in the future.

Completely shocked that Ebert is the final pick - there were times where he was being talked about the type of player that might be a steal in the second round. Just crazy.
