I feel I have a lot of high end assets and I'm looking to package players for some elite studs. I don't know a lot about baseball but would it be good for me to go after guys like Harper, Tulowitzki, or Kemp?

Good solid looking set of keepers. As much as I like Kimbrel I think the closer role is too fickle to be keeping him over any of your guys. I took guys like Cano and Andrus over Granderson because of the positional weakness. Here are my seven.

That's 9.
I'd try to move four of those guys for a major upgrade at two positions.
i) First 2-for-1 gets you down to 8.
ii) Second 2-for-1 gets you down to 7.

Maybe move Granderson, Heyward, Gio & Montero.

Absolutely, with your current team, I'd keep Andrus, Verlander, Hamels, Granderson, Heyward, Cano and Kimbrel.

I don't think Teixeira is a guy I'd keep, he's clearly declining.

For a dynasty league you keep the absolute best pitchers, but focus more on bats. You have a sweet team, to be sure. I'd say never keep a closer, but Kimbrel is one of the absolute top options.

I'd tag:
Montero
Cano
Andrus
Heyward
Verlander

These 5 without a doubt. I'd then take Granderson & Hamels if you can't work out a trade.

If possible, though, take any combination of Granderson, Hamels, Kimbrel, Axford, Lynn, Hellickson and Teixeira and try to get a top 3b (Longoria may be a great buy low since he's injured right now) or 1b (Pujols, Prince Fielder, Votto)

If you could manage to take those 5 above + Longoria and Votto - phew... THAT would be impressive.

Obviously other players are worth pursuing (Kemp, Bautista, Trout, Harper, etc.) but keep in mind OF, SP and RP are the easiest spots to fill - taking care of youngish studs in the other areas will be better for your squad in the long run.
