huge Beasties fan since Licensed to Ill when I was in middle school and I "grew up" with the group through the years... they provided the soundtrack to my life. i feel this loss like a personal one
as a Kings fan from childhood, I should be elated with their success this post-season and their sweep of the Blues, but I feel depressed about the death of MCA

As someone in my early 40's, I grew up in the 80's and literally wore out 2 Licensed to Ill cassettes. Thats right, we used to buy cassettes back in the day. 20+ years buying and listening to the Beastie Boys. I still remember the day I found out Screech's brother was a Beastie Boy. I thought that was awesome. If you dont know who Screech is, well then thats another issue.
