In a 14 team league $5 doesn't seem too bad to me providing they don't sign anyone else and I don't think they will. Betancourt was pretty darn good last year and I think he'd go for a little more than $5 which is all you really determine your keepers by. You probably don't have 16 other keepers so he isn't bumping a more worthy guy in his place. I don't think Brothers is ready yet tho you could spend $1 on him just in case. He isn't in the top half of the closers but theres 7-8 teams who would be happy if he was their guy. $5 for a guy coming off a good year in a 14 teamer seems worth the investiment as your #2 closer. Smaller leagues maybe not, 14 teamer I'd keep him for that
At $5, you should keep him. Fair investment for a reliable reliever!
betancourt is a good $5 gamble in your situation. prepare for the gamble to fail ( have a back-up plan ) and you will be fine.
