    Default Need Trade Advice!!

    My: Beckett, McCann and Jeter
    For His: Hanley Ramírez

I wont be keeping Jeter so it doesn't hurt losing him.

I can trade in M. Rivera or B. Webb as my last pitching keeper if I lose Beckett, so its not that big of a loss

McCann is the huge loss for me. Catcher is never deep and he's one of the best. Also very young as well.

What should I do? Is gaining Hanley worth losing one of the best young catchers in the game?

    Thanks in Advance!

    Can't recommend that deal IMO.

The loss between McCann and Pierzynski is much greater than the gain between Ramirez and Jeter. Plus Beckett is playing for a contract this year for the Sox. I don't see you winning this trade as it stands now.

    Let me ask you this:

Would you do the same trade for Pujols? I think I would.

In some draft HanRam is more valuable that Pujols. I don't think it's too much to ask to give an aging SS, a good catcher (let's be honest here, it's only a catcher) and a good pitcher. You would be getting one of the top 2 players in baseball. Weigh it out against your stat categories and see what you come up with.

I wouldn't be keeping Peirzizizskisijkisksizki either. See what you can draft.

This trade also allows you to keep some of your other good players. Who is available for you to keep?

I just read your post again and noticed that you don't even plan on keeping jeter anyway?! I would do that deal in a heartbeat then. You're basicaly giving up Beckett and McCann?

    Do it. Fast.

If you're not keeping Jeter, the trade esentially comes down to McCann and Beckett for Hanley. Think you have your answer.

You've seen McCann's ceiling. You'll be able to draft catchers like Miguel Montero, Geovony Soto, or the underrated Kurt Suzuki who put up almost the same numbers many many rounds later.

Just remember, someone laughed at me when I declined a trade to get Hanley (he wanted Prince, Gallardo and Soria) that his skillset is showing a chink in his Armour. Not only that it's likely he doesn't run as much this year.

I would definitely do that. Not one of those players are even top 3 round players and Hanley is a top 3 player.

    Thanks for the insight guys

I actually made this deal better for me

I traded Jeter, Beckett and Hill for Rameriez

Pretty sure I won this one, and am pretty happy I got the top SS
